Hi everyone!
Hi everyone! I just registered here but am a long time lurker :P Anyways so far I haven't had any Lucid dreams, however my dream recall is beginning to improve dramatically, so I guess thats a good thing!
Anyways, I have a quick question for all of you, today I was reading about Sleep Paralysis and thought that I would try taking a nap and see if I could get anything to work (Did this around 3:30pm and I woke up at around 7:15am).
Now since it was about 8 hours since I woke up (And I was wide awake) I thought this would ultimately fail, however me being the curious person I am I decided to try it. So I laid down on my bed and tried to not move my body at all. It was all going good and about 10ish minutes later I started to feel a tingling feeling in my legs that was slowly moving up the rest of my body. My breathing kept getting harder to do both through my nose and mouth. Eventually my head began to feel very heavy and was borderline hurting, and after a few seconds of my whole body feeling "weird" I "woke" myself up.
So I did still have control of my body and I didn't hellucinate or anything like that, so I was wondering if I did go into Sleep Paralysis or anything like that. And if not then do you guys have any tips or anything to help me achieve lucidity?
Anyways I can't wait to hear what you guys think and I am sorry if I wrote a bit too much! :P Oh and I can't wait to become part of this community! See ya!
Edit: Also one last thing, I felt really tired after this all happened, not sure if it that means anything but I thought I should add it in.

Hi haphadon, welcome to Dreamviews :)
I'm not very experienced with different LDing techniques and sleep paralysis, but I've attempted WILDing a few times and decided to try it a few nights in a row, starting last night. What I ended up feeling might have been similar to what you felt, but I took a lot longer to get to that point. I also had trouble breathing, but I think that might have been partly because my room was too warm and I attempted SP in a position that was comfortable at first but became painful pretty quickly (or maybe that was just part of SP). It also could have been because I tried counting my breaths to stay conscious, and whenever I concentrate on doing something I usually do without thinking, it becomes really difficult to do normally.
What did you focus on to try to stay lucid?

:welcome:
Those feelings are the beginning stages of sleep. It sounds like you were close to succeeding in your WILD. If you can ride out any weirdness, you will be able to transition into the dream. It feels very convincing, but the uncomfortable feelings are normal hallucinations.
