Thanks for the reply, too! :)
Can you create confidence for yourself though? Or does it have to come from a success?
I would like to think that both have a tendency to create one another.
So how would you or anyone here make themselves more confident, or confident enough to have a lucid dream?
I don't see how you can just say you will have a lucid dream and try to feel that you will, even though deep down you are uncertain as it is uncertain.
How can you convince yourself that you will when you know there is no reason why you will? Isn't that the key to the technique?

:P
Most of the stuff that can help with your confidence (that I find) is in that guide too :)
The answer is sometimes closer than you think.Quote:

Convince myself is exactly what I did. I just said to myself before falling asleep "I will become lucid, wake myself up, stay still and transition into my choice of dream" and I did. Also, I woke up at 4am. First off this means that it's easy to have lucid dreams, and second that I really do have multiple dreams a night, all of which might be lucid. All I have to do is focus on waking up to record them!
I did actually tell myself to wake up during the night so I could do WBTB's before. I told myself I had a flight to catch and if I didn't wake up I would miss it. I emulated the feeling of excitement and worry you feel when about to go on a trip. And it worked the first night and every night I thought (even briefly) about it.
So maybe....?
True that. EXCITEMENT GIVES RESULTS. :)
WELL ALRIGHTY THEN
I'm going to get super pumped for tonight, I'm going to imagine all the things I want to do and make sure my mind is focused on this as I fall asleep.
Wish me luck
I wish you luck! :)
Well, looks like I'll be able to meet Finn and Jake tonight. I have been thinking over the past couple of days, about the confidence factor. Back in 6th grade, where that was all that I needed, and I'm bringing it back! Having a lucid tonight!
Ok well it didn't work last night but it wouldn't have the first night. But friday night is my lucid dreaming night so I'm going to put in extra effort for that night. Tonight I will try as well, but I have to get up early so it isn't a lucid night technically.
