Hello, I'm new to this forum.

Hi and thank you for clicking on my " Introduce Yourself " post, I would like to take a few minutes of your time to explain why I'm here.

I'm 17 years old, born October 26th 1993. From the West-Coast of Norway. And well, I'm mainly here to learn about Lucid Dreaming and how to get better.

I've always had this interest in dreams and how our mind works. "Social Engineering".

I think I've had about seven Lucid Dreams and I've had one SP in my life. :roll:

But I have a question.

Note that doing SP, might lead you into something MORE than a Lucid Dream. What I mean by this, is astral projections, or Out - of - body - experience (OBE). Entering one of those without knowing is HIGHLY dangerous. You CAN get lost or having something worse happen. So read up on AStral Projections and OBEs. Hi Honsehauk!!! Welcome to DV! Out of curiousity, how long have you been trying to Lucid Dream? 7 lucid dreams already?!?!

Well about the SP, SP happens every day/night. It's the transition our body makes from asleep to awake and vice versa. AP and OBE hasn't been proven, and i don't know much about them so sorry about that.

As Ace19 said, AP and OBE are not proven, but LD is. Considering I experimented with all three of them for a while (Don't believe in AP/OBE) and that some people who do believe in them said they were AP/OBE, LDing is still far better than those two.

And for how it can be dangerous it is rather simple, for those who believe, leaving your body exposed without a soul is of course dangerous because astral beings or that sort of stuff might try to take control/enter/whatever.

I started reading about Lucid Dreaming about 2-3 years ago. I found it first on a norwegian discussion board called FreakForum.

What techniques is the best for a newbie to start with?:shadewink:

Well, i consider myself a newbie, and i'm trying MILD. I suggest reading Naiya's technique. It isn't too tough, and you could try other techniques like Puffin's SAT.

Depends, if you have lots of natural SP WILD, if instead you dream of anything you read right before going to sleep, then MILD, if none of the above then DILD.

I think DILD or MILD are the best method to start with, I had experience of this because when I first started I wanted to WILD out of all the techniques, which to me is the hardest of all. Not being able to WILD put me off lucid dreaming for awhile, but I realised there was so much more to it, and that WILD is overrated in the sense of how much effort it is for some people to achieve one.
So check out some DILD guides, what I did when I first started on DILD/MILD was make sure I had good recall, bad recall can make you feel like you aren't achieving any lucid dreams, when actually you are forgetting them. Stay motivated, start a dream journal if you haven't already, become more aware throughout the day, and before sleep I advise visualising the dream you want to have, and using auto suggestion "I will have a dream" repeating. There are plenty of great guides in the wiki section of the site, so be sure to read up on as much as you can.

Well the thing about Astral Projection and OBE's is that they aren't proven. But from my knowledge of them is that if you will to be back in your body then you go right back into it, in fact lots of people find it harder to stay out of your body in OBE's rather than having a problem re-entering it.

As far a good technique for a newbie would be the DILD, or dream induced lucid dream. It doesn't involve and mandatory loss of sleep at night (unless you try the WBTB). But it is very easy to do and works pretty well, plus it doesn't involve a lot of focus before sleep. But mantras do help. If you would like a good tutorial here are a few links:
