Hello dreamers
Hi. Another newbie here. I came to this site because I became very interested in lucid dreaming one day. One of the reasons why was because a few months ago when I woke up I couldn't move at all it scared me I had no idea what was happening. But also I saw this glowing thingy over the top of my body. I was scared and yelled "Go away!" and when it vanished I was able to move again. I disregarded it for months untill the thought of lucid dreaming came into my mind. I searched it up and the idea of a lucid dream peeks my interest. And I hear experienced lucid dreamers can even experience an OBE. I believe now that what happened to me all those months ago was an OBE of some sort. So anyway my goal is to have a lucid dream

Hey Daredevilpwn, welcome to Dreamviews.
To me it sounds like was you experiences was just sleep paralysis. You can experience HI while in sleep paralysis which is probably what the glowing thing was. Anyway I recommend you read Puffin's Beginner's Guide to Lucid Dreaming. Good luck with your future lucids and OBEs!

Hello sir, welcome to Dreamviews!!!
Like Mancon said that sounds an awful lot like sleep paralysis. It is you body's way of keeping you from acting out your dreams. What you experienced was Hynpagogic Imagery, it happens regularly in sleep paralysis and can sometimes be scary. But it can't hurt you. Check out Puffins guide Mancon linked you, or also check out the Wiki here . You can also check out some of the user tutorials around the site as well!
Happy dreaming! Good luck sir!
