Clarity/Vividness
Hi,
I have had couple of lucid dreams so far and the thing is I want them to be more vivid. While ago now I had this one dream it was like a proper hallucination, very realistic in fact it was perfect (smells, touch, sounds, wind you name it) it was all there. I was aware of everything like in lucid dreaming but I wasn't controlling it.
It happened only once in my life to have so clear dream and I would like to make them happen more often but nothing works for me
So far I have tried:
- Brilliant Dreams - which didn't work for me at all, it even made me less sleepy and woke me up, kind of like drinking a coffee right before bed
- 5-HTP did work and made me have more dreams but still not vividness
- The last one and the best of the bunch I tried and I still take before going to bed is Vitamin B6, it really makes me dream A LOT and I wake up so much more rested. Vividness is a bit better but still nowhere near the dream I had.
So does anyone know what else can I do to drastically improve my dream clarity (and please no comments of the magic mushrooms type or anything of this kind) I am absolutely sure it must have been something I ate or drink what triggered this "hallucination" I had but there is no way I could find out what it was (I didn't drink alcohol or anything like that before the bed)
I read that improving the dream recall may be of help here but the thing is that I do remember couple of dreams every night and it still is not the same
If anyone has any suggestions please write.

Hey Renton,
After reading what you said I got the impression that you are just trying drugs to make your dream vividness better.
From personal experience I found that as my recall improves, clarity comes with it, because you can remember the experience better. So I would recommend keep at the recall, at first I found that I remembered more content, but then after a week or two of dream journalling, the occasional beastly vivid dream would come up because the recall of that night was so good.
If you have any other questions, just ask!
Happy Dreams

From personal experience I know that engaging the senses can increase vividness. I recall once having a lucid where I found a hidden stash of food, then thought I'd focus really hard on what I could hear for a while. Something rather strange happened and it was heightened insanely, then all of a sudden the whole world ''levelled up'' and was one hell of a lot more vivid than before.

All stabalizing techniques could also increase the vivedness of the dream. t is like what graves said, you have to stimulate your senses. This could be done by rubbing hands, touching stuff in the dream and licking things :)

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I will start the journal straight away (I did try it before for a while but somehow I didn't last to long) so now I will try harder. Do you often read it later? I will look into dream stabilization techniques also. Thanks Again

You could read the journal if you want, reading what you wrote is mostly for finding dream signs and reoccuring events. But it will be helpful to read it a while, dont stress on reading it though, but make sure you write everything you recall
