Hey I am new to this stuff

Well I have never really been much of a dreamer but I am trying to improve my recall. I probably remember 3 or 4 dreams a week. I havent started a dream journal yet I am going to soon, I was just wondering what your opinions were on this:

the only dreams I do remember have really fast jerking motions in them like a rollercoaster or an elevator gone really crazy. A lot of the time its not a roller coaster; it seems like a roller coaster but it seems (i would look up to see but i am not lucid dreamer yet) that I am just holding onto something like a rope in the sky and I am being pulled around like on a rollercoaster. Secondly they have these lavendar coloured gloves I used to wear on a daily basis but I stopped wearing them because they got dirty and I cant be bothered washing them. My dreams either have the jerking motion, the gloves or a boy that I like in them (I might just remember the dreams that he is in because well I like him).

Do you think these could be my dream signs?


Sorry if I am being really nooby or premature but I was just curious. And I know I probably dont need that much detail.

Glad you've joined DV. Trying to train and improve your dream recall is a very good place to start so your at the right track. Now regarding about the dream signs. You said that those 3 elements(motion, gloves and the kid) often appears in your dreams on a daily basis. So if that's the case, it's probably safe to call them your dream signs. But let me tell you this: this 3 things are just a part of this big collection of your undiscovered dream signs so be sure to keep a watchful eyes for those hidden dream signs. Read this Dream Sign Tutorial to improve your knowledge about dream signs my friend. Nah, I've seen worse in terms of questions people have asked so it's totally fine. :)

If your recall is really low it is probably best to start a dream journal as soon as possible. Write literally everything you can remember down, including fragments and it should definitely improve your recall. I was never much of a dreamer myself until this July and I improved my recall dramatically in a month because of my dream journal.

In terms of dream signs, they can basically be anything that reoccurs often in your dreams. So if these themes keep reoccurring they are probably your dream signs. There is some great information here if you're interested.

I'd also like to point out that from experience the less like 'real life' dreams are, so first person, in a normal environment that you know, the less likely you will realise it's a dream. Don't worry, the way you can improve the chance of having a 'high chance' dream sign environment is dream incubation. Give it a shot, before bed spend about 5 minutes thinking/visualising a dreamscape and you becoming aware.
