Well, if you're not a natural -- or even if you are -- I strongly suggest that you try some of DV's patented, tried and true, handy-dandy Tutorials. They cover all sorts of practical methods, and also speak to lucidity-inducing elements, like tea and vitamins. Also, they do speak to difficulties you might encounter with these.
Best of luck!
Hey there!
Welcome to Dream Views.
First of all you should begin by starting a dream journal in order to increase your dream recall. This means that everytime you wake up you should right down what you remember about your dreams. It is also really helpful to set your alarm for 5 hours after you go to bed so that you will wake up at a great point where your dreams will still be really fresh in your memory.
Once you get your dream recall up you can start noticing dream signs..and from there you can use these to become lucid. I suggest that you check out the adoptions forum. After you have been a member for 2 weeks you can be adopted by someone who is more experienced and receive more one on one attention and help. I'm sure this would be quite useful to you.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me or any of the other Dream Guides or members.

It's very true what Nina said. Also, after getting your dream recall up you should start doing reality checks in waking life. The idea of reality checking is to question whether you're really awake or if it's all just a dream. After you have made a habit of reality checking, it should carry in your dreams too and help you to get lucid.
Some good reality checks: Pinching your nose and trying to breath through it. If you manage to breath, you're dreaming. Looking at your hands. Usually they look blurry and weird in dreams. Looking at a clock a few times. In dream they usually show dramatically different times in each look.
Dream journal is the most important thing though. It really helps you to know your dreams better.
