How long?
Hey,
How long does it take to begin to lucid dream? Tonight will be my eighth attempt in a row. Ive been trying to every night ever since i heard about LD (8 days ago). Ive been keeping a DJ (not on this site) and do reality checks at least once every hour of WL. Just wondering how long it takes before the consistency pays off.
Thanks,

It all really depends on you and how much effort you put into it. But usually it takes about a month I think from what I have heard from other people. But that doesn't mean it will take you that long, if you put a lot of good effort into lucid dreaming then you will get there soon enough. Don't get discouraged if you haven't had a lucid dream yet, the key to lucid dreaming is patience. It can take a long time for you to get there but as long as you stay patient and don't get frustrated if you don't have a lucid dream then you will get there and believe me, it is well worth the wait. Now it is a lot easier said than done to just wake up from a night with no lucids and just continue on your marry way because, a lot of us feel mad that we haven't had a lucid dream that night. It's a regular thing, but as long as you keep in mind that you ARE making progress and you WILL get there, you will get there a lot quicker than if you just give up.
Hope this helps sir!

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm really looking forward to it. It feels like im waiting for a really great movie to come out. So much anticipation. It does get frustrating when you wake up every morning with nothing to show for it. Then again i haven't given it much time lol. From what I hear its definitely worth it. Thanks again!

No problem man! Keep at it! You will get there soon enough an when you do, you will be pretty darn glad you waited!

I've heard of people who get one the first night they try... and others who have been at it months and haven't gotten one yet. I took a month. I had been trying all month, then finally got frustrated and decided it wasn't worth trying for anymore--and that night I had my first LD. I had been seeing my most common dream sign all month and missing it. Then finally I saw it again--and it hit me. So even if you begin to think it's hopeless, don't give up.

It took me around one month of trying to have them I think. So far what your doing with the RC'ing and DJ is good, keep it up, also try ADA or all day awareness at random times of the day or whenever anything wierd or random happens ( as wierd and random things usually happen in dreams too). I never got a LD from just randomly RC'ing, as many others have noted, most DILDs they have are the result of becoming aware in the dream and then performing the RC to make sure. Good luck!!

Hi there my friend. The amount of time to achieve a first LD varies from person to person. Some had their first LD on their first night while others took up to 1 month to get their LD. In what I remember, it took me 2 weeks to have my first LD. But with confidence and patience, you'll achieve that long awaited Lucid Dream. Hope this helps :)

It varies quite a bit from person to person. Just stay focused on it and it should happen. The few times I have become lucid though I get so excited I wake up.
