Day 2: Making Progress
Hello all. I decided two nights ago that I wanted to attempt lucid dreaming on my own (I didn't realize there was such a community for this.)
So just keeping a log for myself, I thought I'd share where I'm at so far. Just know that I work nights so I have to sleep during the day. I'm not sure if this hurts my ability to lucid dream, but I'm sure it can't help. =P
LD Attempt #1:
I remember being kind of out in the open. There's people around me, but I don't remember/know who or how many people there are; all I'm doing is looking at the sky and I think everyone else is, too.
The sky is normal at first. Daytime, some clouds and the moon. Suddenly I notice the clouds aren't clouds, but the cracks and craters in an even bigger moon. This process of realization from clouds to a moon happens until there are 5 moons in the sky in a type of semi-overlapping formation like biggest to smallest from bottom-left to top-right and the 5th moon is kind of off to the side.
Suddenly it gets very dark in the sky; night time, yet very quickly. Then the moons all start turning red like they're about to explode; cracks in them are getting brighter. And then I woke up.
While I was disappointed I didn't realize this was a dream despite five moons exploding in the sky... I knew this was a first attempt so I didn't let it get me down.
LD Attempt #2:
I don't remember much about the dream, only that I'm getting closer to lucid:
I'm in my place of work, just casually talking to a buddy co-worker of mine. We're discussing a tabletop game that I play with other guys at work and elsewhere, but the buddy I'm talking to about it doesn't play the game. I start to notice that particular detail doesn't feel right, but I can't really comprehend it yet.
We continue talking about the game until he brings up a type of vehicle for the game that doesn't exist. This is the second hint, but I still don't fully realize it doesn't exist. So I tell him, "Oh, I can't buy that vehicle." He asks me why and I pause, trying to think of the reason why (the actual reason being it doesn't exist in real life,) but I just can't put my finger on it. When I start to get closer to the truth I wake up.
So close!
I know I'm getting closer because of the little hints that something doesn't feel right. That and the buddy I'm talking to is someone who's into unique stuff like lucid dreaming and is a helpful individual, maybe me hoping he'd help me lucid dream in dreamland.
I woke up early, giving myself about 45mins and then going back to bed in a couple of minutes; just thought I'd share. I'll have more later.

I slept a couple more hours, but holy crackers was it a long dream, yet less closeness to lucidity unfortunately...
I'm going to keep chuggin' along for it.

Hi there my friend. Just continue attempting everyday and I'm sure you'll be able to achieve that LD we've been all waiting for. Always remember to be patient and have confidence in yourself. By that way, do you already have a dream journal? It would really help if you'd own one. Good luck my friend :)

I do have a dream journal, just using my computer for now.
It's amazing how quickly I'm making progress thanks to jotting what I remember down; normally I can't remember my dreams at all, but just going to sleep knowing I want to record it all has me remembering a lot. My last attempt I remembered almost every detail--something I don't think I've ever done with dreaming.
Thank you, sir!

No prob man, just continue what you're doing and LD#1 will be finally achieved :D

Quick thing, post your updates on dreams INTO a dream journal not onto the forum ;)
unless you want to ask a specific question or something
