Important question about something going on in my life

I'm not entirely sure if I'm posting this in the right place, it's just quiet an important question. Sometimes I go through strokes of depression, and I feel like theres someone else, another person living inside my mind that is harming me purposfuly, and causing issues within my life, lately I seem to be alot more angry and depressed than usual. This "thing" living in my head, I've though that if I was able to have a lucid dream and imagine me controlling it, in a sense, would that help me to get better in the real world?

Lucid dreaming is often used to relieve a person psychologically. Making a person use his full potential in real life. So I would say, go for it, Lucid Dream to control this thing you are talking about. I would also suggest you try to make it a habit to meditate so that you can clear your mind and have a short state of silence. But always remember, there's only you, nothing more. You are the boss of your own actions my friend. Hope this clears it up :)

Thanks alot, I've been doing a bit better in the last day or so, I'm stilling trying to have lucid dreams, I notice that I'm starting to remember my dreams more every night I try the excersizes, but I haven't actually remembered a lucid dream yet.

I know what you mean about something within you holding yourself back. I notice this sometimes. It feels like some part of myself is trying to sabotage my happiness. It becomes very apparent in dreams. No matter how lucid I am, or how much control I have, there are always surprises and challenges beyond my control. We are definitely made up of more than our conscious thoughts.

I had stopped attempting to lucid dream, but recently I was depressed and found myself visiting dream views every now and then. In a dream, it's your world, ONLY yours, once your lucid, you're in control of everything. That may help with your depression.

I'm no expert, but I say go for it. There are so many uses one can make of lucid dreams and if not all of them, then probably most of them are a step in the right direction of becoming better: having more confidence, feeling that you are in control of your life, feeling that you are on a way of understanding yourself more and more. These are all things that can be achieved and that can and will have a positive effect afterwards in your waking life.
