Dreaming more common when sleeping extremely late?

Now i know i am noobie here but anyone experienced this too?

In my summer vacation i was for a week sleeping at my grandma's house with only my brothers.

We always slept very very late! Like around 3-5 AM. But what i really noticed was that i could remember everyday my dream and was having a bigger number of dreams if i sleep on time.
I sometimes woke up after a dream and then went immediately back too sleeping for another dream.

I told this later to a friend of mine and he said he had the same experience!
So sleeping extremely late triggers more dreams?Anyone experience the same or have an explanation for it?

      Thanks!

I have the same experiences and it is norml for me to go to sleep around four a.m. Three o-clock is usually early bedtime for me, however I have been gong to sleep a little earlier lately. I can not compare a difference because I was drunk the first night and have been a little ill the last few nights so it messed up my sleep and recall but I find that with wleeping in until about 11 I usually wake up during or immediately after a dream and I attempt to go back to sleep in it. Because of this I tend to remember that last dream very well and they are usually the fun ones for me I think. I am not sure if it is that you are going to bed late though, I am new as well.

      Welcome to DV, MitchellMonster.

Dreams tend to be more vivid in the morning, because our REM cycles become longer as we sleep more - and this is the period of sleep when dreams form. It's not so much when you go to bed as how long you sleep for.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      Welcome,
Yeah we dream more towards the end of the night, for a proper lucid attempt with DILD/MILD I make sure I can sleep for at least 8 hours, maybe 10 at times which really does increase the chances.

I hope you enjoy your stay!
