      Greetings

      Hello everyone,

I'm new here, and after about 2 weeks of reading over a lot of things from this site, I thought I would just go ahead and register. Anyway, I just recently got back into LD, due to the fact that I learned about WILDS, not too long ago. Throughout the course of my life, I've had what's known as Sleep paralysis quite a few times and its always scared the crud out of me, and I had no idear what it was, that is until recently.

I remember the first time I experienced it, it was something I could not explain, but to put it in simple terms, I very well thought I was a dead man, lol. All the times its happened to me I've always panicked and eventually it went away after all the pathetic tiny squeaks and whines that came out of my mouth (those were meant to be screams ).

But alas! How I wish I had known about what it was earlier, because now that I WANT it to happen so I can attempt a WILD, its proving to be rather.....difficult XD. I'll keep trying though! So yeah, that's a little about myself and my background. I've never had an LD before, and it is indeed something that I very well look forward to experiencing, and I'm sure all of the helpful info here on DV will help me achieve my goal. Wish me luck!

Thank you Zebrah! and ohoho! There are Tons of things that I would like to do in my dreams, but as for my first LD, I think I'll just let my mind take me where it pleases. I'm curious to see what my subconscious is like, lol. I do get a feeling that once I am able to obtain lucidity it will be easy for me to control them. At least that is how I feel, the only thing is actually getting there. I've also decided to just give in and started a dream journal yesterday (I've always thought It'd be a hassle to make one) and was able to get 5 different scenes of things that happened in my dream.

I can easily remember my dreams and I have some of the most ridiculous dreams, but I can Never realize that I am dreaming. For example, in the last of my dreams yesterday, I was walking around an outside shopping district type place, with a two headed lion/dog hybrid thing following me around everywhere I went, and quite the number of unusual things going on. The first thought that came up in my mind when i woke up in the morning was ****, why didn't I realize I was Dreaming! Haha.

That's why I'm leaning towards the Wild method now, but who knows maybe the dream journal will help.

Thanks, for the warm welcome! So, I think I may have hit improvement yesterday. I don't know if it was because I was on here reading before I fell asleep but anyway this is what happened. I went to bed without even trying to get into Sp or anything and I ended up knocking out and waking up at about 5 am. I thought to myself eh, this might be a good time to try and WILD. I was more awake than drowsy however, so I just laid down on my side and closed my eyes and tried to concentrate on falling asleep. Soon after I found myself feeling a tingly sensation throughout my body, it was Quick though, it was more like a wave than anything and it just came and passed in an interval of about 3 seconds. It definitely did Not feel like any SP I've ever had before, this was way too short and it still felt like I could move my body so I thought it was just in my head and I said to myself, Gah I've failed, and I got out of bed to go get some water. As soon as I left the door I noticed that it was sunny outside, and I said to myself, wasn't it raining a few seconds ago? That, and it was 5 AM, so there's no possibility of a super bright sun out at that time. As soon as this thought came to my mind EVERYTHING felt heavy and I started to spin, and all of a sudden it got dark and BAM, I was laying in my bed, awake and it was about 8 AM.

When I saw this, I didn't even think, I just said, Ok new try, and I just closed my eyes again. This time I didn't even feel anything, I just remember being in a building, following some random guy in a suit who was talking about how good the insurance he was selling was. Then I looked down, and looked up again, and he was wearing a red shirt. When I saw that, he said something and I remember saying, "no your not, I'm dreaming right now". The Moment those words came out of my mouth Boom, I was in front of a room in my house. I told myself ok I'm definitely dreaming because everything just felt Weird, I looked at my hand and proceeded to do the finger through the hand reality check and the moment my finger touched my hand Boom, I instantly appeared laying down in my bed. Everything still seemed weird though so I just went with the thought that I was still dreaming, and continued with the reality check while laying down.

This time I didn't even finish with the reality check because the moment I lifted my hands to do it, they looked sooo long, and when I saw this I said I'm definitely dreaming, so i started to sit up on my bed, but it felt soooooo slow. Like my body was moving very slow, and the closer I got to sitting up, me heart just started BEATING so fast! Like if it was popping out of my chest, but I just took some deep breathes and kept repeating the phrase "Im Dreaming". I don't know why I was sitting up so dang slowly though, it kind of annoyed me. Then all of a sudden I heard a loud BOOM, and I was awake laying in my bed. I figured it was the neighbors fixing something because after the boom, came hammer noises. Gosh I'm so close I can feel it in my bones!

So I have a few questions pertaining to this. Is there any way in which I can just realized I'm dreaming without having the dream crash? It almost feels like my brain doesn't want me to realize it (if that makes sense) because whenever I came to that point I would either instantly be teleported to another scene, like in the blink of an eye, Or I would wake up. Also, is there anything I can do to calm myself down when I get restless, other than telling myself there's nothing to be afraid of, because there have been times when all of a sudden while I'm laying down my eyes start move around so dang FAST after I hear something, it feels like they're vibrating! I can't even move them around like that when they're open.

This comes with experience, don't worry, try stabilising when you first realise you are dreaming.
Also, is there anything I can do to calm myself down when I get restless,
Try rubbing your hands together or shouting "stabilise!"
If you do have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Welcome to Dreamviews and congratulations on your (very short) lucid dream!

This is great progress and even just experiencing being lucid for a second helps. To make sure your dream doesn't "crash" try rubbing your hands or spinning. Those are techniques that are quite effective for dream stabilization.

Also you should check this wiki article out that has some great information on dream stabilization and clarity.

      Cheers and Good Luck!
