Hi and welcome to DV! Closing your eyes in a lucid often result in you waking up, so don't do that unless you want to. Using verbal commands is a great way of stabilizing the dream, I often sing or talk to myself just to remain in it. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask!

Hello!
Yeah try not to lose vision, you don't need to blink in dreams!

Hey, welcome to Dreamviews! c:
It's awesome you didn't wake up; many people have a tendancy to wake up if they lose their sight, as not paying attention to one's surroundings is likely to cause destabilization. You definitely don't have to (and probably shouldn't) close your eyes, just to ensure you won't wake up. And like Matte87 said, blinking isn't even a necessity, so there's nothing to lose from not blinking. I personally don't even remember to blink unless I'm trying to wake up from a dream, in which case I may shut my eyes tightly.
If you have any questions, ask away. :)
