Is that common?
Yeah so i went to sleep like normally and then i wake up at like 4:00AM or something (didn't watch clock) I didn't even open my eyes but I knew that I was awake and i thought that i should try WILD so I relaxed my body well and moment later I started to see some blue light and I thought "now im close." I focused to this blue thing and suddently my heart started to beat faster and faster and then i lost this "blue light" that was going on while i was relaxing.
I'm new at this so I don't know what I did wrong. Maybe I gave too much attention to the heart beating and should have just ignored it.
What do you think. Was I close, should I just keep practicing?

Hi echon, welcome to DV!
I believe what you very doing is a DEILD (Dream Exit Initiated Lucid Dream), which is a shortened WILD. You do it exactly as you did it - after waking up, you don't move and you try to get back in a dream. You can read some great tutorials in DV Wiki.
And yes, getting too excited or focusing too much on what's happening may not be good. But keep practicing, you are on a right path. Good luck.

You probably got very excited, but don't worry.
Things like that always happen. Just try to stay calm and focus on breathing or something such as that.

When entering SP i find my heart maxing out and my breathing being rapid and shallow, I am getting better and better at DEILD, and in my experience when you wake up and keep your eyes close, your body still and your mind focused, it may only take a few second to get back into a Lucid, Sounds like you were nearly there but let the emotion get you a little to hyped up, but you WILL lucid tonight so look forward to it :)
