I've been trying to lucid dream for awhile and i've been keeping a dream journal. I've been practicing the MILD and DILD (and ADA) techniques, although i've heard that WILD produces better effects faster. Is it hard to achieve WILD?

Hi there my friend,
the difficulty of a method depends from person to person. Some finds it hard to perform a DILD but finds it easy to perform a MILD while others have it vice versa. So it really depends on what suites you best. But in a general area, most people often finds it hard to perform a successful WILD. It takes a lot of patience and confidence. You can try it if you want to. Maybe you're one of the few people who can perform it with ease. Good luck! :)
Thanks man. What is the major differance between DILD and MILD? I was allways under the impression that they were very similar.
Hi there again,
While it's true that the MILD and the DILD are some-how closely related to each other, they have a little difference. The DILD focuses more on being aware and doing RCs throughout the day in hopes of carrying that habit of awareness into a dream. On the other hand, the MILD focuses on visualizing the dream scene you want to have or visualizing a past non-lucid dream. That way, when you're inside a dream and you are able to spawn into that visualized dream scene, you'll remember that you visualized it thus producing lucidity. Hope this helps and feel free to ask more questions :)

Why not give it a go? I personally have had no success with the WILD method, but great success with DILD. This is something that varies from person to person, but if you are going to give WILD a try, get into the WBTB habit. WBTB regardless of whether or not you WILD will help you greatly on your quest for lucidity ^^ read up on it... By the way are you asleep in your bed right now? better do a reality check! Hope I was helpful, Good luck.
What i have learned about wilds is that timing is perfection. Some people say try it after 6 hours of sleep, so people do like there told and most of the times they sit there like vegetables getting no results, therefore getting frustrated and giving up on the method. Wild is a method that needs a specific schedule to be performed succesfully. If you want to suceed you have to experiment all kinds of times, try attempting wild after 3, 4,5,6 or more hours of sleep, its really experimentation, i think that everyone can perfom wild you just need to find YOUR perfect time.
I think a lot of people have a hard time WILDing, but once they figure out how to do it consistently, it becomes a preferred method. Once you get into the right state it's a lot less hit or miss than the other techniques. But getting into that state is what I've found difficult. I've gotten close heaps of times, but only ever entered a proper dream about twice. Most of the time I'll only get a few seconds of imagery and then either wake up or go unconscious.
