n00b to the dream world!
Hello, I'm Target Dummy, a newbie to the dream world! I've recently been attempting to gain lucidity for a week or so now (without much luck) and I thought that this site would be a nice way to start. So, I started my own personal Dream Journal today, as I read on here that it could help dream recall with an odd dream that I might post about soon. Well, I just wanted to introduce myself and maybe see if I can get any tips on how to get Lucid for the first time. Oh, and I'm probably going to put myself up for adoption in two weeks or so. Until then, happy dreaming!

right well the dream journal is important for dream recall and also to try and find out what your personal dream sign could be. It is important to have a general feeling throught the day that you could be dreaming. This idea should make you more aware while you are dreaming of abnormalities. It is also important to do a bunch of reality checks during the day to reassure that you aren't dreaming, these should carry on to your dreams and can help you become lucid. Things like looking at your hands or closing your nose with your fingers and trying to breath are both good forms of a reality check. Welcome to dreamviews and if you keep a positive attitude i am positive you should have your first lucid dream soon. :)

Welcome to Dreamviews!
This is certainly the place to be, it can take some practice and dedication to get the first LD, but once you start having them, they usually come easier.
Read Puffins beginner guide to lucid dreaming, for sure ^_^ ask away if you have any questions!

Welcome aboard! I second Puffin's guide, and if you're looking to try WILD, use KingYoshi's WILD technique. There's a bunch of other tutorials, but I like these the best.

Hi there TargetDummy,
Glad you've joined DV. I'm sure you'll have a fun stay here in the forums. If you have some questions, feel free to ask :)

Thanks for the advice guys! I think I'm going to try King Yoshi's WILD method tonight as I've tried to WILD before with no success and I don't like the idea of DILD because it's too random. I'm going to try to WILD and do a few RCs (I've been doing them all day and my friends have asked me why I'm counting my fingers:D) Once again, thank you and I hope I'll have my first lucid dream soon!

Start out with ADA (all day awareness) and MILD.
