3rd LD: fearful?
Hey guys,
I just had my 3rd after a long almost 2 weeks of no LDs, and definitely it was definitely my shortest lucid dream. I was successful using a FILD/WILD technique where I basically did the finger trick to keep my consciousness up while SP kicked in, then once i knew i was asleep, i tried getting up.
I remember the sticky feeling of seperating my dream body from my physical body again. Then once I was successful, I remember opening my eyes while sitting up in bed and thinking here we are! But, a part of me was a little fearful because it was sooooo dark that the moment i felt the fear, my mind woke up instantly. I did the nose plug RC and surely enough, i was awake.
Pretty frustrating, I have no idea why that fear kicked in. Any advice?

Are you afraid of the dark? Can't really give you much advice other than to tell yourself that nothing that happens is dangerous in any way to yourself. Dreams induced that way can take a while to get stable. Just rub your hands or use verbal commands to get the light going. Good luck next time :)

It is a bizarre feeling. Stay positive and don't give into fear. After a few times, it feels much more natural and less scary.

Hi there my friend,
It's possible that you were emotionally unstable(maybe because you were successful in your WILD or because it's dark) that's why you woke up the very moment you entered Dreamland. I suggest you just remain calm and relax. I'm sure you'll be able to get used to it after a couple of more experience.

I used to be scared of the dark, sometimes I do freak myself out too, just reassure yourself or leave the TV on with quiet volume, does the trick for me!

Not to be a total noob (even though i am :cheeky:) but what is the "finger trick"?
