Sad question... what is lucid dreaming? :( Is it when you're dreaming and realize that you're dreaming? I've never actually been able to acheive this, and I find it sad... it all sounds so interesting. I want to learn more about it. :wtf2:

From the siteActually, I suggest you read everything on the site.Quote:
There is nothing inherently difficult to understand about the concept of lucid dreaming: as stated in the introduction, lucid dreaming is simply dreaming while being aware you are dreaming. You can think of lucid dreaming as being conscious while dreaming. *If, by chance, during a dream it suddenly dawns on you that you are dreaming, then you have experienced a lucid dream, regardless of whether you have been able to attain control of your dream.[/b]
Yea, I suggest reading all the texts from the main site too.
Anyway, to answer your "really pathetic question": Yes, you're absolutely right. Whenever you're aware of that you're dreaming, you're having a lucid dream, no matter whether you had any control over your dream or not.
yeah reading everything the site has to offer is a good idea, but my take on lucid dreaming is being able to realize you asleep in bed and then you can control your dream and do whatever you want. I think its the key to true self realization.
you could also read this book, it has all the information about lucid dreaming you could have, its called LaBerge, Stephen - Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming...
ps: don`t be shy.. ask whatever you want, i think we all know here what is being new...
"It is better to ask a pathetic question and get an answer than to ponder on a question that everyone thinks you should know the answer to."
-Yume
You can quote me on that.
The real concept of lucid dreaming is just the fact that if you can confidently say to yourself I am dreaming when you are you are lucid. It is always good to learn and we want to teach you.
I agree with Blasphemy this is an excellent starter book to get tons of information on Lucid DreamingQuote:
