Was I lucid dreaming?
This morning I was in bed at about 7:00. I had already woken up for the day but was faking sick to skip school. After walking around and eating a bit for like ten minutes, I went to lay in bed. I didnt want to fall asleep yet so I was focusing on staying a wake. At some point I guess I fell asleep. I dont remeber what I saw but I remember hearing a buzzing, like cicadas, that reminded me of summer. I could control the volume of the sound. At this point I realized I was dreaming and decided that I wanted to go visit my friend at his house. I was on my way, buy I woke up. At some point in my sleep I remember feeling my body being stiff but vibrating violently. I dreamed that I got up and went to the bathroom and upon attempting to get back into my bed, I could not. I tried to pull myself onto it and to step onto it. I could not. A few years ago, I was taking a nap and I woke up while I was in sp, I believe. I could not move at all, it was terrifying. Please let me know what you think.

Yes indeed, that was a lucid dream. If at any point in the dream you realize that you're dreaming, that means it's lucid. :) And waking up while in SP is pretty scary, I agree. Have you had any other lucid dreams besides that one?

Hi there my friend,
That's definitely a Lucid Dream You got there, so congrats  . As long as you become aware that you're dreaming, that is Lucid Dreaming my friend. Anyways, it kinda sucks to wake up right? It happens to most of us. But if you are able to stabilize your dream, then you might just be able to extend the length of your lucid dream and make out the most of it. By the moment you become lucid, make it a habit to stabilize your dreams. There are lots of ways to stabilize a dream. Try rubbing your hands, spinning your dream body, touching rough surfaces, licking bitter stuff, or anything that makes use of your five senses. Always stabilize your dream after a minute or two. Try reading the official dream stabilization tutorial.
Hope this helps and good luck in your next Lucid Dream :)

When you wake up and can't move, you are in Sleep Paralysis. It happens every time when you sleep so you don't act out your dreams. Only most of the time you don't notice it, because not only your body, but your mind is already asleep. In case you want to have another LD, check out the DV Wiki for different methods of having one.
Welcome and good luck!
