So close to LD
Hey all, just registered here and have been into LD for awhile. I have not yet come fully into a LD but I feel Im getting close. Almost everyday my dream recall is amazing, I can almost remember the whole dream. Lately I have been trying the technique to tell myself right before bed I WILL be having a LD. It's starting to get frustrating lol, my dream recall is so vivid its like a memory but for some reason I just keep going on with the dream and not taking over. Im going to start trying the reality checks and see if it can give me control. Any other help from people who started out like me would be great.

Eyup. Here I am mate,
Well to cover it, I am also having good recall and here is a tip: take a tehnique. Any tehnique for you will be great, altrough I used FILD (finger induced lucid dreaming), look it up. Also everytime I woke up, to make sure it's not a dream I did a quick hand through finger reality check. Also tonight, after doing my homework real quick, went to sleep, dreamed something (non LD), woke up when I usually GO to sleep, stood about 30 mins awake, went back to sleep, had another non Lucid dream, woke up in the middle of the night, tried the finger thing about 3 times, each time I couldn't fall asleep, changed my bed; and then I simply let myself sleep. First LD came afterwards, WOOHOO.

DeRoach, you are right - telling yourself that you will LD at night is just one part of inducing the Lucid Dream by method you are trying - it's called MILD. You should add reality checks to the mix. Read up some tutorials in DV Wiki on MILD - that's probably the easiest method you can start out with.
Also check out info on daytime awareness.
Having good dream recall is essential - so you are doing great in that area. Did you start a Dream Journal here on DV?
Welcome to DV and good luck!

Good job ^__^
Dream Recall is for sure one of the most important, so keep at it! Try reality checks for sure, you are bound to get lucid eventually.
