Almost had it!
Hello fellow dreamers, I've been on this site for a while in the background, but I just started studying lucid dreaming about one week ago. I have a whole setup on my evo, and auto suggestion alarm and a program called 'Dream Flasher'. I have used this setup for the past few days and nothing was happening...until this morning!
So I'm in the dream and it's dark, my eyes are closed and I see bursts of flashing light. "I'm dreaming! I say to mysefl aloud in my head. And then I hear someone say in the background "No you're not, you were just sleeping, it was that flashing light!" I wake up, that someone is my cousin sitting in a chair across from the bed. So I'm awake, and sure enough there was the flashign light going off, only thing was the flashing light was actually a camera-like box with just this big flashig n light....not my evo phone.
My dream couldn't had made it more obvious that the 'Dream Flasher' was acually working, but my logical mind just wouldn't break. I didn't realize that it was a false awakening until later on when the dream actually ended and I was actually awake.
Lesson Learned - Always do a reality check right before you close your eyes to sleep and right after you open them to wake! That's the one thing I didn't learn to do and it cost me my first induced lucid dream, lol! I'll be ready next time.

Damn, you were so close. Don't take it personally. This is very common when you use devices, like this. We are frighteningly good at reinterpreting the lights and sound to work them into the dream. You are so close, you will be lucid tonight.

Haha, that's a close one my friend. Make it a habit to do a Reality Check every-time you wake up because you may not know that it's already a False Awakening. Anyways, good luck in your next attempt :)
