Hello!
Hi,
Just signed up here, and want to share with you a successful story :)
I found this website and browsed through some articles a few days ago. Ever since I was very young I've hated the thought of having to sleep away so much of my life and I'm starting to realise that I've found the right place by registering here :cheeky:
Anyway, tonight was my first opportunity to start out with step 1 - creating a dream journal. I must admit I was rather sceptical when I lay in bed, repeating to myself "I will wake up after every dream", but this just made my amazement when I woke up this morning even greater. See, during the night, I had woken up 5 times, every time after a dream, and I have now logged 4 of the dreams in my dream journal (the first time the dream was so short that I didn't note down anything - and it's all gone now).
I find my experience quite incredible and am really glad I've found this community which I am sure will allow me to have many more great experiences :)
Anyway, I was just really excited about this, so I felt like sharing it!
Happy Dreaming,
Kind Regards,
Jonathan

Welcome, Jonathan!
Indeed, many people do sleep away so much of their life without knowing the possibilities and recalling the adventures of the night before! Lucid dreaming brings so many possibilities. Welcome again and feel free to ask questions :)

Welcome! Good job on your dream recall. You also experienced the power of your mind and power of suggestion. You told your mind to wake you up after each dream and it did.
The mantras work on the same principle. You tell yourself "Next time I'm dreaming I realize I'm dreaming", or anything else to this effect and it will get you lucid, if you also practice some daytime awareness and reality checking - this is technique called MILD and it will get you lucid dreams called DILDs. Of course, you have to also believe in yourself and know for sure, that it will work and be excited about it.
Good luck to you.

Welcome Jonathan!
I have always hated the idea of sleeping away my life as well. That's why when I first found Dreamviews and this site I was super excited. Creating a dam journal is definitely the right thing to do. It allows you to recall your dreams and it is always cool to read back on your dreams after a while.
The power of autosuggestion is amazing, isn't it? In my opinion, attitude plays a big role with lucid dreaming. If you think lucid dreaming is hard, it will be. If you are confident about it and think it will be easy, it will be.
Anyway, best of luck to you and many lucids! :)
