New to dreamviews.com
I just registered last night and am hoping that by finding this community of support, it will help me get rid of alot of subconcious doubt i feel when trying to lucid dream. I have had 3 total lucid dreams and am hoping to master this awesome art. Been trying to practice WILD, but it is really hard; seems more tangible than DILD to me though. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm so excited to have found an entire online community that actually shares this passion! Awesome

Welcome to DV :D Another midewestern user, there's not many, I'm in Missouri right above ya xD
And this site is super helpful, there's many tutorials and what not. First, confidence is key. You have to be positive, it will be much harder to lucid dream if you have doubt. Just know you're a lucid dreamer. And also, WILD might seem more tangible but it is usually difficult for beginners. Not saying it is impossible. It'll require practice, but try to MILD (mnemonic induced lucid dream) along with WBTB(wake back to bed). That is a good combo for newbies :) if you have any questions feel free to ask

Welcome to DreamViews! :)
I agree with Erii, due to its difficulty the WILD technique is usually recommended for more experienced lucid dreamers. There are many techniques to induce lucid dreams, some easier than others. For a beginner, all those different techniques might seem confusing, and it can be difficult to pick the right one to start with. Therefore, I recommend you have a look at this article to find out which technique would be best for you to start with.
Like Erii suggested, the MILD technique is usually recommended for beginners, since it requires little preparation. However, if you feel you are getting close to having a successful WILD, I suggest you keep using that technique for a little longer. You can always switch to a different technique if it doesn't work for you.
Also, if you haven't already, I suggest you read through Puffin's Beginner's Guide to Lucid Dreaming. This guide covers the basic information about lucid dreaming, and also includes some tips on dream control and how to stabilize lucid dreams.
I hope this helps somehow. :P
