What does SP actually feel like?

I've never experienced it before since I'm a heavy sleeper(not sure if this actually prevents or not) and while attempting to WILD I break out before it even start at my feet - during the part where your vision is starting to darken and you begin seeing the first of the HH.

So, how do I get over being scared of Sleep Paralysis having never experienced it?

Why would you be scared of something that is completely harmless? See it as a scary movie, you might be scared but you know it's all just a movie and won't harm you, so therefore you can relax.

Sleep paralysis is not as scary if you are expecting it. Knowing what it is will take most of the fear out of it. It is true, you may hallucinate, but isn't that the whole point of dreaming? Think of it as another type of dreaming. It is an adventure :)

You can WILD without ever experiencing sleep paralysis. Sometimes you can transition smoothly into the dream, other times it is a bit more rocky, with hallucinations, paralysis, or other hypnagogia. Traditional advice to avoid hypnagogic sleep paralysis is to WILD in your normal sleeping position (not on your back), and divert your attention away from your body.

Why do you think sleep paralysis is scary? Don't worry, because sleep paralysis really is an awesome feeling! If you're constantly worried about sleep paralysis when you try to WILD, you'll never be able to have one. Therefore, don't let unnecessary fear stop you from having wonderful WILDs! :)

By "HH", do you mean when you start to see swirling colours? This is before sleep paralysis, and what you feel is your body relaxing and going deeper into sleep. So when you feel like you're slowly going numb, it's not sleep paralysis. The sleep paralysis only happens as soon as you're in REM sleep, which means that you'll not be in sleep paralysis for very long because you'll transition into a dream.

Is it the hallucinations you're afraid of? Don't think about them. I've been experiencing sleep paralysis quite a few times, and I've never had any frightening hallucinations (I only hear hissing sounds or something similar, but they aren't scary). If you happen to see something, it's possible to change those hallucinations into something less intimidating.

Is it the feeling of being unable to move? Don't worry about that. You'll most likely feel strong vibrations, but they're only pleasant. It doesn't really feel like you're paralysed, unless you try to move. If you struggle to get rid of the paralysis, you'll wake up from it very fast. But if you remain calm during sleep paralysis, you'll transition into a lucid dream!

Just like said earlier, SP isn't scary if you expect it to be okay. Just be confident and know that it will be fine. You experience SP every night even if you're not aware of it. It just feels like a wave of heaviness, breathing might be weird, etc. Just be confident and believe in yourself

I have never experienced this before, mostly because I haven't tried it yet. One night, my alarm didn't go off. The next night I tried I woke up with a MASSIVE headache. Its just like anything you're scared of. I used to be scared of sleeping with the lights off in my bathroom. I just took little steps. Eventually, I couldn't sleep because it was too bright so I closed the door about halfway. Eventually, I just closed it all the way, but kept the bathroom light on. Next, I thought "well if I sleep with the door closed then I could turn the light off." I guess what I am saying is that just take it in steps. Just go further and further each time, and remember nothing can hurt you in SP.

Well, it could feel like a number of things. You specified "feel," so I won't really describe common hallucinations.
But, usually it feels like you're sinking into your bed. A vast amount of weight on your chest or perhaps a slight feeling of hypnic jerk.

Now, if you enter Sleep Paralysis in a state of fear, you run the risk of it manifesting itself. Due to accompanying hallucinations, this would be a very undesirable effect.
An ominous feeling of dread. Likely with the feeling of being watched.

The important thing is to not enter sleep paralysis fearful. Sleep Paralysis are proven to be completely harmless and a very common.
Most people enter in a state of fear because they are unaware of what is happening and that feeling is manifesting itself into terrifying hallucinations.
You come in with a huge advantage. You know exactly what is happening and that it is natural. So, there is no reason to enter fearful.

Sleep Paralysis feelings are large gateways to lucid dreams with definitive indicators of exactly where you are in the process. Welcome them and be thankful when they come.

You know you can also stick with DILD and avoid SP... Starting out it is easier. Some DILD virtually every night so I've read.
