First time lucid dreaming

Hi, I'm new and I wanted to introduce myself. :)
I have a strange sleep schedule and usually sleep from 6am - 3pm. When I was younger I was interested in lucid dreaming. I did some research, but I never tried practicing any the techniques suggested. A couple nights ago, I stay up too late playing computer and didn't take my sleeping pills. Then when I went to bed I experienced sleep paralysis and my first lucid dream. I had some control but not much. I thought it might have been a fluke so I tried again last night. I experienced sleep paralysis again and when I fell asleep I had another lucid dream. This time it was much more vivid, lasted longer, and I had more control.
I thought most people could lucid dream from a young age or they need to put a lot of work into it. I had my first lucid dream at nineteen without any effort. Is this really unusual?

Try to keep your sleeping schedule steady, even if it's during weird times xD and congrats on the LDs :) It might take some time to build up your dream control.
It's not super unusual, I had lucid dreams before I started trying to do them, most people have a few in their life regardless if they try or not.
