      Helping with Dream Recall

I'm relatively new to Lucid Dreaming, having started about 3 months ago. I've had 16 Lucid dreams, so about once a week I'm successful. Sometimes my dream recall seems really good (recalled 5 dreams the other night), and then sometimes it seems very weak... one small fragment or sometimes "zip".

When my dream recall was poor for a few days, I tried B6 a few nights in a row, but that didn't do much for me. Neither did apple juice. However, while in Puerto Rico for 6 weeks, my daughter got me drinking "Mistic" fruit drink (available at Costco, at least there). I noticed my dream recall really picked up. Since coming home I picked up V8 Tropical drink, which is simliar... they both are a blend of pear juice, carrot jucie, and maybe orange juice or other juices. For me one side affect seems to be I'll wake up after an hour of sleeping and have trouble getting back to sleep... it's like caffine to me. I think the amount affects me (a very small glassdoesn't seem to do that). I'm still experimenting but thought I would pass that along to any who are having difficulty recalling dreams. Last night I had great recall, and had a Lucid Dream to boot (although the early hours of sleep were pretty restless since the drink affected me early on).

Something other than vitamins that you should take note of are stress levels and the amount of sleep you get. These are generally the main factors that contribute to poor dream recall.

Any questions about lucid dreaming? Drop me a PM here!

Yes, you are right on with those inhibitors causing issues. I doubt V8 would overcome them. Ya gotta fix those first. Also get lots of sunshine for melanin and minimize tv before bed.

Could it be the sugar from the juice keeping you awake? I get this a few hours after drinking alcohol. I will wake with a pounding heart and a racing mind. It will not go away until I get out of bed and walk around a bit.

      Sunshine Affect

You just need to make sure you get some sunshine during the day... you don't need to sleep in the sunshine. It's one of the factors I've seen mentioned for good dreaming. I've started keeping my curtains and blinds open during the day in my office.
