i have dreams that would terrify normal people, but they dont faze me..

ast night for example... i cant really make out a lot of what happened, but i do remember being in my apartment and it was REALLY dark. had a flashlight and was trying to get back into my room, but there was an outline of like, a very small, very skinny mokey like thing covered in blood and had glowing white eyes and teeth. then it ran between my legs too fast for me to follow. and it made a sound i dont think anything on earth could make.

next i remember goiong into the living room, the lighting was better, like it was morning, and i saw my setp dad and mom doing their regular morning thing, so i look for the bloody monkey, following its footprints, and wind up back in the living room, only the skin is completely torn off my parents and the monkey is sitting ontop of my step dad, staring at me.

after that i think my alarm woke me up, and i just went back to sleep. and all i can remember after that was something about the new covanent movie trailer

Sometimes I feel like my emotional reaction to dreams is totally independent from the actual content of the dream. Nightmares are rarely frightening when you recall them later in the day. The content was not scary, necessarily, it was just there to flesh out the fear that was the real root of the dream. The same thing happens with sad dreams, dreams about love, or any emotion. It seems like the emotion comes first, and the dream is built around it.
