Best tricks to trigger lucid dreaming?

Hi Guys,
I'll start by introducing myself. I have been interested in lucid dreaming for a long time and have a library of lucid dreaming books that i read part of a long time ago. I think Robert Moss or something like that and The Art of Dreaming. I have had lucid experiences in the past and i was thinking of doing it again. If i remember right the best way to start is to tell yourself often "Am I awake?" Do you guys have tricks that help you become lucid? I would like to make it such a habit i can lucid dream almost every night. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, to start off you should start a Dream Journal. A Dream Journal is a notebook where you would write what you recall of your dreams when you wake up, that way, you will remember them easily in the future (this is very important, it will help your recall a lot).
Then you should learn about the different methods to induce a lucid dream.
The "asking yourself if you're awake" thing you were talking about is called a Reality Check, you can also read about them here.

Taking B12 helps me greatly besides that nothing special

I think I read you should ask am I dreaming. This is better as you need to question this when asleep. You will already think you are awake.

Ignore the latest, greatest induction methods at first. Or forever. The real key to lucid dreaming is a constant, dedicated approach. Work first on a steady dream journal and on several reality checks per day. After that, work on MILD technique (in the tutorials section). It tends to have the highest success rate. Varying your bedtime routine too much will make lucid dreams more difficult, so stay away from techniques like WILD until you've built up a good routine first (two weeks to a month).

I guess I'm a bit late, heh :P I'd say one of the best tips or tools for any lucid dreamer is awareness. Whether or not you're going for DILD, you should always question your reality. Or you could adopt a different mentalily altogether; "This is a dream, waking life is a dream." With this mentality, you're trying to achieve the sense that both dreams and waking life are one and the same mentality. Therefore, you're lucid all the time.

The easiest way for beginner is trying DEILD. Dream recall is not necessary, you don't lose any sleep and the success rate is very high. Thou, it's up to you to choose.

I used to have terrible dream recall and still got regular Lucids using DEILD.

Yeah, dream recall is crucial for lucid dreaming. What's the point if you don't remember? You could get away with not having a dream journal but if you want to make sure you remember as much as possible (as well as making you have more dreams to be aware in) so you recall everything.

If you don't, for all you know you could lucid dream every night but just not remember.

I must agree with you, but only if it's MILD or DILD. How is it possible to forget WILD or DEILD?

If you sleep on after a lucid or you have a full blown lucid but then slip out of it into regular sleep then you will probably forget it regardless of technique.

Yes, obviously. Otherwise, you would remember like 6 dreams per night. It doesn't have to do with the technique.

If I really want a lucid I will attempt a WBTB WILD, if I fail that then I usually have a MILD. :D
