I have only had one lucid dream and I am now trying to get better at dream recall. I have a question though. I've been having strange dreams in which I am married to some guy I don't even know in real life. Sometimes the dreams become sexual. I've never had sex in real life though. So everytime it gets down to it I wake up. Is this because I've never done it and instead of trying to figure it out my brain just wakes me up? Would the same thing happen in a lucid dream?
One of the old Gurus of Lucid Dreaming, Patricia Garfield, used to pack her seminars by advertising the prospect of having multiple orgasms in dreams. Other experts were frankly surprised by such assertions, since usually, as you indicate, the sex act wakes most people up.Quote:

For men, there is the problem of waking up with something of a hygiene problem to take care of.
yet, Patricia Garfield was fairly old at the time. I have begun to notice among other older people, that, though sexual encounters in dreams have become exceedingly rare, older people do not necessarily wake up, and there is not the problem of having an unhygienic discharge.
But, yes, if you are young, the sex act in a dream will only wake you up.
For Lucid Dreamers it becomes something of a delemma -- one enjoys having sex, but if one engages in dream sex, then the dream will be over. Well, forgive me for being frank, but one can masterbate anytime (though not at Church up in the front pew) but Lucid Dreams are not so common as to be so cavalierly thrown away for the first sensations of a sexual experience that will end after only a few seconds. So Lucid Dreamers often learn to walk away from gratuitous dream sex.
Hello and welcome, more then likely your dream would create what it thought sex felt like or use past experiences with masturbation as a guide. It sounds to me like your either fighting against having dream sex because your not ready or your excited about it. either way dreams usually mean something but you'll have to figure out what.Quote:

Thanks a lot. I didn't even introduce myself. How rude of me. Well I stumbled onto this site by accident and became fascinated by the idea of lucid dreaming. I didn't even know there was a term for having a dream and knowing it. I''ve been recalling at least one dream a night, so hopefully it will happen soon!

Your problem is fairly common, from what I've heard, so no need to be concerned or anything. When I engage in sex in a dream, it usually ends after about 20 seconds... So I really don't waste Lucid Experiences on this for asaid reasons.

P.S. Not to be a meanie or anything, but "lucid reaming" is something differently entirely. Basically, it's being consciously aware that you are squeezing fruits for juices... Though, depending on which "Fruits" we're talking about, this could have been a Freudian Slip. :)
