Hello Ed, welcome to DV! Care to tell us a little more about yourself? How'd you learn about lucid dreaming, and what made you want to look into it? What goals do you have for LDing or dream interpreting? Do you have any experience LDing?
There are a couple of classes for lucid dreaming as well, if you're interested. Check out the DV Academy if you are interested in joining one of them.
Happy dreaming. :)
Hi Ed and welcome to DV, I'm sure you'll make many new friends here on this site and find lots of excellent information which will help you on your way ;)
Hey welcome to DreamViews. Check out the wiki and Beginner's Guide to Lucid Dreaming thread for good techniques. Remember that the best person to interpret our dreams is yourself. Best of luck.
Thanks for the welcome. I have my personal info on my profile, so you can see that if you like. There was a time in my life when I had lucid dreams quite often. Some I was able to stay in for a quite a while. One dream in which I was lucid, I even talked with some of the characters and they came to realize I was the dreamer. I remember one saying to me, asking that is, to come back and not forget them. But I've never been back since then. I actually feel some remorse over that, because as stupid as it sounds, I feel responsible for those people, and that dream has shaken me and shaped what I have come to believe about many spiritual things.
I don't lucid dream now, but I do dream nightly and usually for the entire time that I'm asleep. They talk about REM sleep and that that's supposed to be the time when you dream, but for me, if I'm not awake, I'm in a dream.
I hold two somewhat strange beliefs: The first is that I believe ordinary dreams are the way in which the Divine speaks to us, or at least the most common way. I believe they are there to instruct us and show us what we must do in this life and how we must grow spiritually. Therefore, I believe it is important to interpret our dreams. The second is that when we die we go to what I call our lucid spiritual plane. I see no reason why this should not be the case. I believe when there, similar to a lucid dream, we have much greater powers of control over our environment, and I believe this is the next phase of life as we grow into a union with the Divine.
I would like to learn to lucid dream again. Not that I ever knew how before; it just happened, but it would be nice to know how, or at least to try to learn. I figure if I'm going to dream constantly anyway, why not get some practical experience in what I believe follows after this life?
Thank you, Angie. I hope so.
Thanks, Evolventity.
