      New Guy

Hello, I just joined up yesterday (5-31-12) to read and talk about dreams. I've always been interested in dream interpretation, if I had a dream I wanted to investigate, I would simply turn to a dream dictionary and consider the results. To me joining a dream forum is a big step, I gotta admit I had a strange feeling all day after putting a dream online ( see New Drug in School ) but that wore off. I don't know if it's a rare ability or not but I can dream something and if I can remember any part of it when I wake, I can return to it 2-3 times that night very easily. I was capable of lucid dreaming effortlessly when I was a teenager (14) for about 6 months but life pressures ended it. I routinely chose to be able to jump in the sky and command the wind to push me over fields and towns and people. Sometimes I would just leap in 50-100 yard gaits. I attribute losing that ability to choose my dream to losing my complete innocence. I started working when I was 15 and constant interaction with people changed me, I lived to be something in the world not in my dreams. Maybe someday I will return to having that control for more than 5-10 seconds.

      Hey Sandhawk! Welcome to Dreamviews!

Dream interpretation is interesting. Different people interpret the same part of a dream a thousand different ways. You can't really tell what the right meaning is, or if there even is a meaning. Dreamviews actually has a dream journal system (see here) where you can read other peoples dreams and write your own if you want to post them! So you can easily continue a dream? That's awesome! I don't believe many people around here can do it easily.

It sounds like you might have a bit of a natural ability when it comes to lucid dreaming but lost a bit of it. I think once you start really trying to lucid dream it will come back easily. You should check out this Beginner's Guide to Lucid Dreaming. It has some basic information on lucid dreams everyone should know. Good luck getting lucids and controlling your dreams!

      Hi Sandhawk!

If you interested in meaning of your dreams, you can check out the Dream Interpretations subforum. But as Mancon says, dreams do mean different things to different people. Dreams are influenced by our daily activities, thoughts a worries, so something that for you means one thing, can mean something completely different for someone else with different life experiences. That's why the best person to interpret a dream is the dreamer himself. But ofcourse, many times dream is just dream. Happy dreams
