Oh, hey
Seeing this is the introduction zone and I'm a new member I thought it might be wise to briefly introduce myself. My name is Coen, I'm from the Netherlands and have been trying to lucid dream for a few months now. My main problem so far is that I don't keep up. I keep a dream journal but decide not to for a week or so and then decide to pick it up again. So hopefully being active on this site will keep both my conscious and unconcious brain busy with lucid dreaming.
Plus being a student can sometimes be bad for your sleeping rythem, which in turn is bad for dream recall.
Any way, I plan to do my best now, and hopefully this site and its community can help me with that :)

Welcome to Dreamviews, Coen:)
It's usually best to be consistent with DJ and with practice, even if you don't see immediate results. Good place to start is the Beginners guide to lucid dreaming. Also bunch of great articles in DV Wiki and in posts. Please look around and post your questions. Happy dreams:)

I will, thank you!
I have already begun reading through most of the beginner guides and will be keeping my dream journal. With the vacation almost there it'll be a lot easier to be consistent and that's what has been my main problem so far.

Welcome to DreamViews!
It looks like you are on the right track. Still, vacation can be a hard time to lucid dream because you're not on a schedule. Maintaining regularity in your sleep definitely helps the recall process and the chances of a lucid dream.
I learned firsthand that keeping up with a dream journal really helps. I'm sure you will see the benefits when the time comes.
And yes, please feel free to ask all the questions you want. It's why the staff is here!

Hey Coen, welcome to DV. :)
I also decided to join DV to help encourage me to LD. It can be difficult to work on a task like this when it's hard to see the progress you've made. I wound up joining one of the DreamViews Academy classes to help keep my mind on LDing, and it has helped me a lot! If you find keeping a written DJ difficult, do you think recording an audio version of your dream when you wake up would be better?

Hey, thank you for sharing that with me. Maybe I will consider such a class if I have some more free time on my hands. As for keepign a recording: I tried that the last few days but found that I will sooner grab a pen and jot down some tags about the dream (which I did last night) than that I will record them. Mainly I think I will remember the dream without writing it down, but that works for less than 10% of all my dreams. If I want to keep a DJ that is as up to date as possible then writing is the way to go for me, I think. But maybe I should just try an actually push myself to make the audio recording to see if I like it better. I will consider it. Thanks! :)
