Hey Mike...welcome to the forum!
That's great that you are working on your recall, that is one of the most important things to get you off on the right track. Have you begun a dream journal yet? You should try to write everything that you can remember about your dreams as soon as you wake up from your dream (whether it is in the middle of the night or the next morning). I find it hard to get up and write things down mid-night (but it's worth it when you are so frustrated and can't remember an awesome dream that you had the next morning). Even going through my Dream Journal on DV I am surprised by some of the dreams that I have written down and since forgotten about!
Once you increase your Dream recall through journaling you will be able to pick out certain dream signs that will eventually spark lucidity for you. For me...a big dream sign is when my car goes out of control. Now when I am dreaming and I lose control of my car I will pretty much always become lucid. There is lots of info about Dream Signs in that Forum. Also you should begin doing reality checks throughout the day...there are alot of great suggestions for that in the Attaining Lucidity Forum.
Feel free to send me a PM if you have any other questions.
