Hi! :)
I joined last night after searching about lucid dreaming on Google... again. I have never had a lucid dream before but I do find this topic really interesting! I have only ever tried WILD three times, they were all unfortunately unsuccessful. The first two times, I just went right in and relaxed, went in to sleep paralysis without sleeping 3-5 hrs ahead. Woke myself up both time because the feeling was way too strange, like someone was sitting next to me touching me all over. I tried again last night, woke up exactly 5 hrs later without knowing. I tried again, had a dream but it was not lucid. I didn't know until last night that it's best to sleep before hand... I can't wait to learn more about lucid dreaming on Dream Views!

Welcome to DV!
WILD is definitely the hardest of the techniques to master - so don't get discouraged! As a beginner, you may also want to look into DILD, MILD, and techniques such as Reality Checks. Starting a Dream Journal and increasing your dream recall is also a great place to start. As for WILD, Sageous has an excellent WILD course in the DV Academy. Plus, there are lots of great tutorials on the site.
Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions and happy dreaming! :)

Welcome to dv! For anyone starting out, I wouldn't quite suggest WILD. It may seem nice, I mean- go straight from being away into a dream! However, it's a bit trickier than what you would read and many newcomers get discouraged when they don't receive the expected results right away.
Start off reading http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/ for some very basic- yet helpful- information. Then read the Wiki for articles that go more in depth and certain subjects.
Try out MILD, it's an awesome technique that isn't hard to use at all.
Good luck, stay positive, and happy dreaming!

Oh, I didn't know WILD is the hardest... I think I will look into DILD, MILD, thank you! I already have a Dream Journal and from it I begin to see patterns in my dreams :) I will check the course out too. Thanks again for the information!

Thank you, OctoberWind! I will try MILD and read some more :D

Hey Pastelpeach! Welcome to Dreamviews!! :D :D :D
I recommend you first check out this Beginner's Guide to Lucid Dreaming. Getting lucid can take some time and effort. WILDing is usually a tough technique to work with. It takes more time and effort than any of the other techniques, in my opinion. Anyway just browse around and learn a little more about each of the techniques! Then choose a technique that you think will work for you. If you have any questions, please ask!

Thanks Mancon, I think I'll try WILD once I'm more familiar with lucid dreaming :)
