A question about dreams
People, do you actually experience your dreams or just remember it later?
'Cause all my life I've heard people talking about flying and DOING amazing stuff on their dreams but I never got to "live" a dream of mine. Sometimes I just wake up with some non-sense story in my head, which I think are the memories of a dream, but I barely can visualize images of it.
Sometimes I think I am not able to dream!
By the way, I'm new here at DV. My name is Gabriel, 19, brazilian. Nice to meet you all! Wish I can make some friends in here.
I just discovered this whole Lucid Dreaming thing. It interests me a lot, and you can bet I'll be here frequently trying to improve my "dreaming skills" - which, for the moment, I suspect I don't have any - with your help!
(Sorry for my English, hope you can understand!)

Welcome to DreamViews! I would recommend starting a dream journal if you don't already have one; it should definitely help you improve your recall, which is an important first step to lucid dreaming.
Your English is fine, by the way! :)

Dreams can feel like distant memories if you do not work on remembering them. Work on improving your memory, and you should notice they improve to become amazingly vivid. Start a dream journal, and make a point of telling yourself to remember your dreams every time you go to bed. With a little practice, they can become more vivid than real life.
Part of the problem is, you are not aware while the dream is happening, so you don't make a point of noticing how awesome everything is. You end up just remembering the dream the way you would remember yesterday's breakfast. It happened, but it was nothing special. Just a vague memory. Lucidity fixes this. If the breakfast was particularly delicious or memorable, or you made a point of taking time to enjoy it, it would become a more vivid memory. You could remember yourself taking a step back to enjoy it in addition to the memory itself. I don't know if I'm making any sense.

Welcome to Dreamviews, Gabriel!
The regular dreams feel to me the same way you describe yours - just a memory. But lucid dreams feel 3-D, like you are standing in the middle of it, pretty much as if you were in waking life. They can feel very vivid and real. And yes, there are no physical laws, as they are in waking life - like gravity. That's how you can fly in a lucid dream and enjoy it very much. Happy dreams:alien:
