Thumbs up Hey, I'm Amanda :D

Hey everyone my name is Amanda, and I'm going to try and make this short, not that there is much to say anyway lol. I havent had an LD since I was like 5/6 and at that time I had no idea what a LD was. So as I got older something personal happened and I ended up getting many nightmares from it. So I thought that there had to be a way that I could stop these from happening. So I searched 'How to control your dreams' and I found out about Lucid Dreaming Ever since then I've wanted to try and have lucid dreams but I have tried with very little success but I'm still trying So yeah, thats pretty much it If you wanna know anything else just ask I don't bite :3

      Welcome Amanda

Good luck for your attempts in getting rid of nightmares. Unfortunately I don't ever recall (or have) nightmares so I don't know it I am lucky or unlucky

Nah sometimes I long for excitement or even fear. It makes me feel human I guess. I'm not talking about the extremely frightening ones but just a little fear in my boron dreams would be nice

Hey Amanda and welcome to Dreamviews! I've had many nightmares before, and I still occasionally get them. But when I do get a nightmare, I'll just watch tv or some funny videos until I forget the nightmare and am tired enough to go back to bed.

And hopefully you get a lucid dream soon, Once you have your first LD, you'll be super excited! I remember my first LD... Ahh good times

Welcome to dreamviews! Hopefully u will get those nightmares under control. If u need any help just ask on the forum, or your always welcome to send a pm. Good luck!

All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.

It's best to have failure happen early in life. It wakes up the Phoenix bird in you so you rise from the ashes.

      Welcome to the forum!

Nightmares are a common issue for many here. We have a whole section of the forum dedicated to issues with nightmares or recurring dreams.

I've found that the information in our Summoning Tutorial and the Dream Control Tutorial offer some of the best advice against nightmares. The effort seems to work best by expecting an outcome around a corner or by closing your eyes briefly and having it appear when you reopen them.

Sadly, this seems to only work well in lucid dreams. If you're not lucid...no such luck.

Write down these horrible dreams as well as the non-nightmare ones. Examine them for common elements that you can use to gain lucidity. Recognizing that you are in a dream is the beginning to controlling them.

For example, if you frequently dream of being chased down a hall you would recognize that as a dream sign. During the waking hours you would practice reality checks when walking in any hall that resembles elements in your dreams. This should carry over into your dreams and allow you to recognize being in a dream when it happens. Becoming aware can allow you to turn a corner at the end of the hall or open a side door and be somewhere else like a field or a party.

The staff is here to help. If you have questions feel free to post them or ask one of us in a private message.

      May your dreams be pleasant!
