I am born with this talent!

      How rare is this?
I've been able to control myself in my dreams for as long as i can remember, and thougt it was pretty normal and everyone could do it!
I've never manipulated the world or anything though, i didn't know it was possible to do that in a dream, until today.
      Everything was normal, until today.
I've simply always had this talent, i even met my friend in my dream and spoke to him!
I never talked to him about it in real life, though, i didn't know that was possible either.

So that question is as reads: How rare is this?
How long do people have to train in order to access lucide dreams?

Edit: I almost never have to perform reality checks either, i just know that i'm dreaming as a reflex, and i tell the people around me.
I want to kill myself for not realizing that i can do whatever i want, hopefully i will dream tonight.

      Welcome to the forum!
It is pretty rare to be able to have LDs every night (w/o RCing)...& a few people don't have to train at all to be a LDer, b/c they are born w/it naturally! & I very well understand that!

      Welcome to the forum. 8)

I've been able to ld since as far back as I could remember, also. I started off by learning how to recognize when I'm having a nightmare, and came up with a way of waking myself up whenever I felt I really needed to. And that evolved into being able to recognize nightmares, and manifesting weapons or powers to defeat them. I thought it was normal also, and that everyone did it, accept that when I would tell people that I could do it, everyone always looked at me like I didn't have any idea of what I was talking about. LOL. But since I learned it had such a study behind it, I've had to start training again, because I lost some of the ability over the years. I'm getting my skill back again, though.

I have a friend with this talent, says it's like you don't even sleep. Although he said he some stuff that made it seem like it was only half-lucid, not full control. I've never had one, at least to my knowlegde. Lucky you.

      Hey TheKnife!

Wow, natural LDs every night! I'm jealous!

But seriously, that's awesome! My first few were totally natural but then I had to start working on it with reality checks and all that jazz.

Good luck with manipulating the dream world! Also, if you feel like posting you dreams in a dream journal, I know I'd be interested in reading them.

LUCKY YOU!!! I, for one, am impressed. I don't have muchg natural talent in this area, if any, and the only lucid dream I remember having occurred after researching it a lot.

Wow, that's a lot like me! I can realize that I'm dreaming usually if it's a nightmare. I have been using lucid dreaming, in a way, to wake myself up when I realize. That was before I'd even heard about LD, so this is all very interesting to me! I also started doing those "reality checks" at an early age... Once in a while, I'll just look around and ask "who, what, where, when and why?" about everything. Just question everything and compare it to normal life.
Now I realize that instead of waking myself up, I can experiment with my dreams. That's so cool, and I can't believe I never realized it! (Although I have wondered what it would be like if I "accidentally" had a lucid dream... before I even knew what a lucid dream was! Now I know I can induce a lucid dream at will.) I only found out about LD yesterday!
Anyway, your descriptions started like how I started out as well, so I thought I'd share my experience too.
      LD is awesome...

I have done this since I was a child. I never knew there was a name for it, or that not everybody did it. As an adult I began to find more out about it and how to do dream checks and have a dream sign and WOW, has my lucid dreaming become spectacular! I was having a dry spell though, but since finding this place and reading the threads yesterday,, I got to have a lucid dream last night.

I am gonna love this place, I can tell , and every one is so nice.
