Hey :)
Hey everyone my name is Kate and I am new here. I learnt about lucid dreaming from my friend here called lucidavenger. I have always been interested in lucid dreaming and how dreams work and why we have them. I am also having problems with the DEILD method. Every time I set my alarm, I wake up a few minutes before the alarm goes off although it is more of a logical awakening than a physical one. Then, when the alarm goes off I am too awake to re-enter the dream. Any solutions or help for this will be appreciated. See you guys around :)

Hey and welcome to DV:).
I've got two possible solutions for you. Unfortunately im not sure which one to apply to your case, so here's both of them for you to try out.
1. Is it possible for you to set the alarm blindly to some degree, or to let someone else set it for you around the time of your planned DEILD. If it is, you might not subconciously know when to expect the alarm to go off. So hopefully you'll wake up when it actually goes off.
2. It might be that your logical awakening is one of those microawakenings that happen troughout the night at the end of your dreamperiod (REM). In that case you'll have to set the alarm back somewhat, so you'll hopefully hit that REM.
Good luck:), Tucane

Haha that's quite interesting since I thought about the first idea too, I was thinking about asking someone else to change it randomly for me but that would be weird. Also, I can't even remember the times i set the alarms for so I don't think it can be a matter of knowing it will ring. As to the idea that it may be because of my sleep cycles I also don't think it can be that since i change the alarm time every night and I still get the problem. Thank you though :)
