First try getting a dream journal. It's essential for remembering your dreams. and oh yah welcome to DV, bro xD
Dream journals are ESSENTIAL to lucid dream effectively, like SUP3RNOVA25 said. You must have good dream recall to do most if not all lucid dream techniques. Also when you wake up in the morning, don't move or open your eyes, and try to recall every dream you had the past night. To actually lucid dream i would recommend the following techniques to a beginner. A combination of DILD(Dream Induced Lucid DReam), MILD(Mantra Induced Lucid Dream), and ADA(All Day Awareness). You can combine the MILD technique with a WBTB(Wake Back To Bed) for maximum effectiveness. And if you want to go the extra mile, you can even perform a DEILD(Dream Exit Initiated Lucid Dream) here and there. Good luck! :)

After reading those you will be ready to talk in our weird gibberish.
A DJ is super important for getting your recall up. Even if you only post it to your dreamviews journal, it helps. Also, there's a beginning class that I'm currently in, which is pretty nice: Intro Class (OpheliaBlue, Caenis, RareCola, realdealmagic).
Read this beginner's guide to lucid dreaming by Puffin. It will get you started on how to lucid dream. Also read the tutorials in the wiki and other threads around the site.
Like others have said, you should work on dream recall first. Keeping a dream journal is important. It IS possible to forget a lucid dream! Here is a dream recall tutorial. :)
Anyway, Welcome to Dreamviews! Hope you learn a lot here and stick around. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
