Hello world
I was recently talking about LD'ing with an acquaintance of mine who can do that, which got me curious and I wanted to try that as well. I already happen to be interested in writing down dreams, which gave me a fairly good dream recall ability.
So he recommended this site to me, I took a look at some info and tutorials on the wiki, and I decided to give the "MILD" one a shot.
Already after about 10 days since we talked... I succeeded! That night, when I went to sleep, my mind was chattering about the various reality check techniques, which seems to have vaguely carried over to my dream.
During the dream, which was about going on a vacation somewhere, I suddenly stood still in the hotel room and thought "wait, I don't remember ever boarding a plane...". And just stopping to think about that strangely made the time freeze.
Then, I vaguely remembered something about "warping" to another dream by spinning around, so I tried that, and indeed I was suddenly in a large battle arena with a dragon at the other side.
At this point I was pretty aware of my senses, and I swear I sure as hell was controlling my actions. So I tried to carefully walk around a bit. Then I attempted to make the dragon disappear with my hand, which was probably not the best idea, since it got me outta my concentration and I went right back into the "flow".
The lucidity was only about 10-15 seconds total I reckon, but I think it was really exciting and it certainly made me interested for more.
So... yup, that's why I registered on this forum :D Hi!

Congratulations on the lucid! Good to know you're practicing MILD, which is my favorite method! I hope you have more successes in whatever technique you decide to pursue.
Feel free to ask questions or share your ideas on the forums! See ya :D

Congratulations. That sounds like a fun dream, even if it was short.
