Hello, Forum!
I've been to this forum many times in the past few years, but never bothered to make an account until tonight. I've always been interested in dreaming, but I'm not an experienced LD'er yet. About five or six years ago, I got into LD'ing for about 6 months. Back then, I was mainly experimenting with B6 and binaural beats, I kept a dream journal and read The Lucid Dreamer: A Waking Guide for the Traveler Between Worlds by Malcolm Godwin. I fell off for a while, but now I'm getting back into it and taking it more seriously this time. I've even quit smoking weed (I smoked daily for about 17 of the last 18 years) and one of my main motivators was increasing my dream recall. Last week, I had my first false awakening. It freaked me out a bit, but I think it means I'm progressing a bit.
Right now, I'm diligently keeping a dream journal and experimenting with Silene capensis and Synaptolepis kirkii, along with a few different supplements (B vitamins, DMAE, choline, piracetam, ginkgo, melatonin, 5htp, etc). Of course, I'm not taking all of these at once... just trying to list everything with which I'm experimenting. I'm also terribly interested in DMT right now, and I'm getting a bit back into mushies. Not that these substances are directly related to LD'ing, but there are connections.
Anyway... what else? I don't consider myself a Buddhist, but that's probably the religion with which I identify the most. I'm into meditation and trying to get into yoga. I enjoy reading about religion, philosophy, psychology, and spirituality (hate using that word). I've been trying to not play video games too much these days, but I've spent a great deal of time playing them throughout my life. I'm married to my best friend who is a beautiful 28 year old female. She is also getting into LD'ing, but not quite as much as I am. We've been married for nearly four years, but we've been together for over 12 and our relationship is better today than it has ever been (after many years of extremely rough times, addiction issues, illness... you name it).
Well, I think I've written enough for now. Probably too much. Anything you want to know, just ask. I always try to be as open and honest as possible. Thanks for reading!

Welcome to Dreamviews, dankoni! Nice intro.
Yeah, if you start noticing FAs, that could be, because you are paying more attention to LDing.
How is that book you mention? I have not heard of it yet. If you want to write a little description of it in LD Books thread, that would be awesome.
DJ may seem like mundane task, but it really helps. I also do some of the supplements you mention, but not DMT. And I also find Buddhism appealing.
Sounds like this time you are really determined to see this through. I'm sure you will not be disappointed. So please post your experiences or questions. Happy dreams.

Thanks for the welcome! The book is pretty good. It covers all of the basic induction techniques, but the most interesting parts discuss the history of dreaming and the different beliefs surrounding dreaming held by various cultures. It seems to be out of print now, as a cheapest new copy from Amazon sells for $227.42.
And yes, I get a bit unmotivated with DJ'ing at times, but I stick with it as it seems to be producing results.
As for supplements, I had some success with DMAE last night and a B-Complex replacing my B6. I have to stick with a B-50 complex, as 100mg of B6 starts giving me headaches upon waking fairly quickly. I'm impressed with the DMAE, which is an old bottle I had laying around, but I have the liquid DMAE H3 coming on Thursday. I haven't had HUGE changes with the Silene and Kirkii, but I'm sticking with them for a month or two at least. Microdosing mushies produces interesting results, but nothing I'd want to do often. Choline seems to negatively affect my recall for some reason, so I might give up on that. 5htp I take daily regardless. So, my current regimen is: 5htp in the morning and before bed, then melatonin, DMAE, B-50 complex, ginkgo, Silene and Kirkii before bed. Ginkgo I tried for the first time last night with the DMAE, so I'd bet my positive results were more due to the DMAE than the ginkgo. As such, the gingko might not stay in my regimen for much longer.
Nice signature, BTW. I'm thinking of getting a version of this for my next tattoo: hxxp://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/532971_10151997542460300_1795206284_n.jpg

Now that I can post pics, my next tattoo is either going to be based on this:

Welcome to the forum!
That's a lot of supplements. I hope they are helping! :)
