Hello all, my name is Dominic, but i go by Dom. I just joined this site because i feel i have the potential to master lucidness in my dreams and even dream control. A few years ago I had a few lucid dreams but never really thought much of them. Not sure what it is, but now something has made me want to really start practicing it and trying to master it. Maybe i just want something new in my life and more wild adventures i feel i can achieve through dreams. Well last night was my first attempt to become lucid in my sleep... and I was succesful. I used the DILD technique. I started reading about techniques yesterday and started performing reality checks throughout the day. Like looking and numbers and letters, looking away for 5 seconds then looking back. Of course i knew i was awake and didnt expect anything to change but i really tried it and told myself it is possible i am dreaming right now.. So that paid off, last night during my dream, I just snapped into lucidness and performed a reality check. I was in the mall and looked at the name of one of the stores, turned away and looked back and holy crap it completely changed!!! That really excited me to know that reality checks actually work and i then went on to try and convince my friend we were dreaming. he kept denying and saying i was crazy and saying i would loose my ability to spell and blah blah blah so i tried to hard to prove him wrong and ended up waking up. So i know what i did wrong after reading through some of the threads on here.. anyways, sorry for the long intro but im really excited to get better at this and appreciate the help you guys/girls have already given.
