I'm new to the whole lucid dream. I came upon while looking for ways to remember my dreams and it seemed intriguing. Soo I've been trying it out for about a week now but I haven't the slightest idea as to where I should begin.

Welcome to the forum!
If ever there was a comprehensive guide to Lucid Dreaming for new people this is it: http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/
You can actually find that post "stickied" at the top of the Introduction Zone. We thought it was that good! :)
Stuck trying to recall your dreams, eh? We see that question often. I always suggest you should, upon waking, continue to lie in bed with your eyes closed and see what memories appear. If you get hints of something try and relax and allow the experience to fill your mind. SOmetimes dreams just return to you in a flash during this time.
Sometimes that doesn't work or I need to use the bathroom too much to spend time lying in bed. During this time I visit the bathroom and while I'm sitting there with my eyes closed and the light off I will sometimes have a spontaneous memory.
In either case I write down whatever I do remember as quickly as possible. I tend to keep a small pad of paper next to my bed with a pen and I write things down quickly using notes and keywords. This helps me keep the memory and I write down greater detail later on when I have time to sit at the computer.
If you are still stuck after attempting that we have a whole section of the forum dedicated to Recall issues called Dream Signs and Recall.
I'm a staffmember of DreamViews so I am here to answer your questions and point you in the right direction. You can post on the forum or you can always send me a private message by clicking on my profile name.
Take a look around, click on things and read some of the great stuff we have here. After that if you have questions I can answer them. Others will also offer helpful advice. :)
Pleasant dreams!
Both of the other posters have given good advice! I agree with melanieb; it helps me to just lie in bed for a minute and try to remember what dreams I just woke up from. (Although that's not too hard for me, considering I'm usually in paralysis when I wake up from dreams, haha.) Also, have you been keeping a dream journal? I find that when I don't write down my dreams, I often totally forget them by the end of the day. If I write down any memory of my dreams first thing in the morning, then usually pieces come back to me as I'm writing––things I would've forgotten if I hadn't been writing it down. Just writing down my dreams every day has helped me to remember them more quickly and in more detail. Hope that helps!
Thanks guys, your advice has been very helpful :)
