New, Lucid dreaming without wanting to and I want it to STOP

This has been going on for about 2 or 3 years now. At first i would just be about ready to go to sleep when all i feel is pressure going down on my body and i end up paralyzed. for the longest time i didn't know what was happening and i didnt understand, i would get freaked out. I would try to scream but i couldn't open my mouth, make a noise, or open my eyes to even look. But for some reason, even though my eyes are closed i know where i am and i see a vague picture of the room. but when i see it, i see a figure. and it stares at me, walks over me, and i freak out. every time it does something different. It "pulls" me from my bed (ALL WHILE I CANT MOVE), feels like it takes the covers, pushes me forward, slides me to a different spot, etc. you get the idea. this happens even after coming out of a dream.

I just feel helpless when this happens and all i want to do is scream. This is a nightly occurrence.

Lately, it's gotten more real than that. I actually start DREAMING when i realize im alseep, and i dont want to realize it. it just happens. its not sometime i try or want to do, i just Accidentally lucid dream and i DONT know how to stop. Its to the point i dont know whats real and what isnt.

Last night i was dreaming, it took place in my house and i saw my mom. she was at the bottom of the stairs. i was just outside my room and looking over the balcony over the stairs onto her, and we were talking, i realized IM DREAMING. fuck. soon as that happened, the chandalier falls, the lights go out, and im paralyzed again..but i was paralyzed in my dream but still being somewhat able to move, but it was very hard. i tryed CRAWLing to the stairs when i was dreaming about being completely paralyzed. the thing is..it was so real i thought it was evem though i knew i was dreaming. my alarm clock woke me and i knew i was back to reality.



Moral, IM aFRAID TO SLEEP NOW. someone help me NOT lucid dream.

I don't think anyone on this website would know how to stop lucid dreaming. If it's a problem, I would suggest you learn to control your dreams. If you can control your dreams you can usually stop whatever is bothering you in the dreams.

Perhaps it was just your last sentence, but you don't know what's not real and what is, you're not lucid dreaming. The definition of lucid dreaming is to know you are dreaming.
Anyway, about that issue, try practicing reality checks. Reality checks are usually things that defy the laws of physics as, within dreams, there is practically no such thing as physics. Block your nose and attempt to breathe through it, try and poke your finger through your hands, try jumping (to test the gravity). I hope this helped that particular issue. I have experianced this since a teen. and its sleep paralysis. This can occur as you fall asleep or as you are waking mainly but can occur in the middle of a sleep. Its not very nice at all. Most of the time people experiance, total inability to talk, make a noise. Move any part of your body. But the most prominent thing is the feel or dread, a malignant figure , presense, or apparition of a figure that makes the experiance alot worse.
If you read up about it, you will see alot of information. It was discovered by a neurologist and is a problem many have. I know from personal experiance if they are getting very frequent, and causing alot of distress as yours seem to be. You can see a doctor/GP who can help. My mum had these for over 20 years till she discovered what they were she had then 4+ times a night and was afraid to sleep. He sent her to a specialist and was given treatment which helped.
Mine are less frequent mostly a couple of times a week. And i know what it is, and i breathe slowly and try to disract my mind, as the more you fight it the worse it gets. Over time i have learnt to get through them. I suggest reading up best you can.

I used to get sleep paralysis all the time as a kid. It is what first introduced me to lucid dreaming. It is pretty terrifying if you don't do anything to manage it. The good news is, you can totally learn to control it and turn it into a positive experience. Become familiar with your sleep by practicing WILD and recording your dreams. You will find it is an amazing gift. It is a gateway to some amazing, life changing experiences.

What you described in the first paragraph is called sleep paralysis. I experience sleep paralysis semi-regularly, and I found that the thing that helped the most in dealing with it was to learn more about it, especially that there is a name for it and that it is neither uncommon nor dangerous. I highly suggest reading up on sleep paralysis, although I don't have any specific recommendations of what to read beyond searching the web. Another thing that can help is to practice good sleep hygiene. However, since you are experiencing sleep paralysis every night, you might want to talk to a doctor about it, just in case it is a symptom of a sleep disorder or something. Even if it is just sleep paralysis, a doctor might still be able to help with that.

I don't know what to recommend about the lucid dreaming other than what someone already said about reality checks. The main purpose of reality checks is to help you figure out if you are dreaming, so that should help you with figuring out what is real and what isn't.
