Im Finally Here
Hi all.im glad i made it here ,,i have been thinking about controling dreams for years and never really followed it up for one reason or another..
for a very long time i never thought i never dreamt at all.although it says here in a few posts that that just means i cant remember them ..im still not sure about that .I used to suffer badly from M.E,and one of the side effects from that is really bad sleeping patterns,i have been to sleep clinics and tried just about anything to help with my sleeping and nothing has helped yet..
Another side effect of ME- i have a high tolerence to alot of prescription drugs which means a lot of sleeping pills have little or no effect,
i go between cronic insomnia {longest i have stayed awake for is 3 nights}
and sleeping for days..{i think my record is just about 48 hours unbroken sleep}
a few years back after i was over the inital ME effects i started kungfu and tai chi im not sure if is a coincidence but my sleeping patterns are a little better..
..
ANYWAY..when i do dream {or remember them } they are very real and i think i might have had limited control over them at some point..
i have done a lot of reading about sleep as this has been something i have had for over 8 years now..as i said im glad im here ..talk to you all again soon.

Hi, welcome to the board, the dream journal will definitely help with recall...
Sometimes my sleep patterns aren't so great, and i think nightworkers have the biggest problem, having to sleep during the day.
Just keep writing down anything you can remember, and it will soon get better!

Hey barry, welcome to Dream Views :party:
So sorry to hear about the ME and the insomnia. I get insomnia alot, but no where near as serious. But it's cool that you have been able to remember SOME dreams and attain some control. If you want to maximize on your dream control, start a dream journal like irishcream said. I cannot ever stress enough to new members the significance, and outstanding effects of starting, and maintaing a dream journal.
I understand that your dreams may be far and few between now because of your sleep patterns, but keeping a journal may help you have more frequent dreams when you DO manage to sleep. Then with more frequent dreaming comes the chance to practice your dream control more.
Please keep us posted on your progress, and good luck,
OB
