Newbie Intro & Questions
Hello, so glad I found your forum. How exciting that there are so many individuals that experience these dreams. I am interested in learning more. I have had lucid dreams since I was child. My mother told me how I would tell the monster to go away, that I was dreaming and i would awaken and they would go away. Threw my many years, I would change dreams, have fun with them. I thought everyone did.
I am disabled, I do take a lot of medications. Somehow I have lost my ability to control the dreams. I know I am dreaming and I reach a point I want to awaken, but can't on my own.
I have learned to call out to my husband, to tell him to wake me. If the bed room door is closed (where he couldn't hear me) I whistle for the dog to open the door so my husband can hear me call out to him to wake me.
Life is stressful and my dreams have become a relfection of that stress. I need to enjoy these again.
I had to lucid dreams last night - one was very enjoyable. The other was very distrubing, I opened my mouth to yell, but nothing came out. i felt trapped for a long time until I was able to call to my husband. i remained awake for a while so as not to go back into that dream.
It is very tiresome not to rest at night....thank you for accepting me and i look foward to meeting other members.

Hi and Welcome to Dreamviews!
Is it possible, that your mom was a lucid dreamer, since she knew how to tell the monsters to go away?
Did you lose ability to control dreams after started taking meds? Do you think that could be the reason? Stress may have a negative impact on our dreams also.
Since you are a natural, I'm not gonna point you to noob tutorials, but please do look around, we have lots of interesting topics. Check out the Dream control forum, among others. On top of that page you will find a Dream control tutorial. Looking forward to your posts. Happy dreams :alien:

A word of Thanks
:banana:thank you..i see a lot of great information. I do have trouble typing and should slow down and proof-read.
I have had lucid deams since I was a child. I meant to say I relayed such as a child to my mother.
I share other sleep-related experiences. My husband and I speak to each other in our sleep. The children thought we were awake, we were having a conversation.
My sister and I did this also when were children with my mother thinking we were awake chatting.
I also sleep walk. To the point where I have had to change my sleeping appreal..bells on the door to alert my spouse.
Upon inquiry, a neighbor said she often saw me outside and I didn't say hello to her. I advised her that I was asleep to please take me back inside.
Honesty, I really never spoke of my dreams for fear it was some type of sleep disorder or worse a mental illness. When I confided in a friend she told me about Lucid Dreams and out of body experiences. She showed me they were something to be enjoyed not feared.
Yes I believe perhaps medications are interferring with my control. I also engage in self meditation and I know some meds do effect the control I have with conducting a good meditation.
This is an awesome site. No I am not the only dream weaver ! I:banana: don't have to hide it. I enjoy meeting others and look forward to reading all the forums.
