Hey all! Glad to be here!

Hello everyone, I'm elemein (or Sebastian if you prefer first names), and I've had my first "lucid" dream today. It was moreso semi-lucid if anything; but it was a DILD.

I'm quite proud of myself as I'd been able to LD with only the knowledge (KNOWLEDGE. NOT PRACTICE) of one single technique; and that is to RC.

A friend of mine told me about lucid dreams many months ago, but he mentioned things like dream journals and sleep paralysis and all this other stuff and I decided I got so little sleep to begin with that doing all this stuff ontop would only make it harder for me to sleep; so I decided not to do it. But he also mentioned one RC.

So I was dreaming yesterday (or today?) and I was having an odd dream. I RCed and became semi-lucid, then had myself a fun time. I didn't know of any clarity or stabilization techniques, so it was pretty sketchy.

But I'm just glad to be able to DILD with next to no knowledge or practice! But now that I know that LDing is awesome, I'm here on the forum to learn (and hopefully contirbute) more!

Welcome to the forum. you've already taken the first big step. You are familiar with lucidity, now all you have to do is hold tight, be patient, and enjoy. =]

Congrats on your first lucid. You got it, because you were excited, and because of the RC made you think about lucid dreaming and that gave you intent.

If you would like to have lucids more often, I recommend you add awareness, mantras and dream journaling. Here is a great Beginners guide. It will help you decide which method youl'd like to start with. RCs are part of DILD training, and that's the method most often recommend to start with. Happy dreams:alien:
