Be Kind - I'm a Newbie
As a child I was troubled by nightmares, but also got very involved with my dreams and enjoyed them playing out - the good ones that is. I can still recall dreams I had some 35 years later!
As an adult, I used to dream about my teeth falling out, but just put this down to sleeping with my mouth open and my tongue resting against my teeth :-S this has stopped now.
I split from a (very) long term relationship (my decision) and had reoccurring dreams that fish were out of water. This stopped after a couple of years, when my life settled down again.
I often have nightmares, I am aware it's a dream, and in my dream I scream to wake myself up, but only muffled sounds come out. My partner knows the warning signs and if I don't managed to wake myself up 'screaming', then he does this for me :-)
This is just background. What really intrigues me is my persistent reoccurring dream about packing to go home, with lots of obstacles in the way. There's usually a flight or boat trip involved, endless car journeys on motorwarys or around cities, even complicated hotel corridors, but it's the endless packing that goes on and on that is the bulk of the dream. It is always to get home, rather than go away. The dreams can last for ages. I usually have a dream like this at least once a week.
I know I am probably waffling and there's lots of information, but would love to hear anyone's comments......................
Thanks !!!

Welcome LeoTheLion :) I'm sure you'll notice quite soon that DV is filled with kind people. All we want here is just share our experiences and learn with other people experiences in order to educate ourselves, meet new people, and above all, spend a good time :)
That's quite a feat, remembering dreams you had 35 years ago, personally I can only remember 1 or 2 :cheeky: Yeah, sometimes when the life doesn't go exactly as planned I guess our dreams reflect with quite some frequency in some cases our state of spirit :x I'm sure it was for the best though :)
And don't worry about writting a lot, it's what introduction zone is for: giving people some information about you! I'm not sure of the reason behind those re ocorrent dreams, but we got quite some people here with experience at helping others interpreting their own dreams, make sure to drop by The dream interpretation sub-forum.
Have a good journey here in DV, and any questions just pm a dream guide (the people with green names) they're always avaiable to help people out, along with the rest of the members ^^

Welcome to Dreamviews!
Lucid dreaming is a good tool to combat nightmares. Since you know you dreaming, you can change your dreamscape, or do something to make it not scary. Please do post your questions, should you have any. Happy dreams.

I can remember overall dreams from 35 years ago ... just don't ask me for details.
Being chased by the 'Jolly' Green Giant, dodging huge feet, being picked up and dropped from great heights ... for some reason it was almost always nightmares as a kid.
As an adult, I almost never have nightmares. Interesting stuff.
Anyway, it is a great group here, some great conversations, and some fun dreams to read!

Welcome to the forum!
I can only recall one or two dreams from 35 years ago but they all involved being sucked through pipes in much the same way it happened in the Bugs Bunny cartoons.
Recurring dreams about packing suggest you don't feel properly prepared for something and may have some underlying anxiety related to someone that matters to you. This is just a guess, you barely provided enough information to get any real feeling for the dream scene.
It would be a good dream to post in the Dream Interpretation sub-forum.
A Dream Journal is also a good place to write these dreams down with as much detail as you can manage. Sometimes reading over the dreams can help provide insight into the meanings or patterns that are expressed in dreams.
We have a lot of great information here and I'm sure people will be kind despite your new arrival. My question is: What brought you here?
Gab and I are staff here. We can help you find your way around the forum and answer questions or help you choose a lucid dreaming method based on your sleeping habits. If you have any questions please feel free to post them or send any staff member a private message by clicking on our profile name.
Have a look around and let us know what you think!
Pleasant dreams! :)
