Hello!!
Hello! My name is Marwan I hail from the United Arab Emirates! ^_^ and I am 20 years old!
I got interested in Lucid Dreaming ever since I had my first Lucid Dream which was 3 months ago also the time I found Dream Views.
I remember it so well, I was in my university and the professor told me I had 10 minutes to do a project, I thought oh simple enough I turned on the computer and nothing made sense.
So after the 10 minutes I apologized and told him I couldnt do it he said dont worry its not graded what a releif! the class finished and I turned to my friend and asked "Hey man what do we have next?" he said we have Bioproctochemistry.
wat?
Bioproctochemistry??????? I told him "what am I doing here, I didnt even register for courses and we don't have any course called bioproctochemistry how did I get to university in the first place..... university doesn't start until September!!!."
I thought, am I dreaming? I AM!!!
And then it went on and on, I stopped cars, went through buildings, flew in a jet car thing :D.
I'm sure every one starts like this as well they have a LD research it and find the forums :D, I should also note I bought Stephen LaBerge's book "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming " and I am currently on page 150ish.
Still working on a consistent dream journal and doing reality checks, one thing that bugs me the most is that, I almost have my WILD technique down but every time I start feeling something happening (Body gets numb I see weird shapes colours in the darkness of my eye lids) I realize that my eyes have magically opened, and it wasn't a false awakening because I did a reality check!
I am looking forward to posting on these forums :D I have seen very friendly people over the last 3 months of my lurking :panic: thank you!

Hello Marwan!
I have been naturally DILDing for years- I'm 14- but they're completely spontaneous, no matter how weird a dream is I sometimes just go with it.
I'm currently practicing SSILDs.
Try repeating "I will keep my eyes closed" as a mantra while doing your WILD. If it still doesn't work, try something easier like a MILD or an SSILD.
Good luck! :)

Thanks Sramsay! I bought a facemask today from my local pharmacy and some earplugs :D should help out, will try the mantras though.

Welcome to Dreamviews, Revoka!
I was gonna suggest a facemask, but you already figured it out. The eyes twitching or opening happens to some people here, not sure what the reason is, but mask should help.
If you interested in WILDs, please check out the WILD class articles.
When using mantras, I would suggest you use present tense - "My eyes are closed" or anything similar. Our mind understand only "Now" and "some other time, just not now".
Even if you choose WILD as your primary method, you can still practice mantras, RCs and awareness training to get a DILD. And Dream journal is pretty important to help you with dream recall, but also with other things, like finding patterns in your dreams, sleeping habits and such. Please post any questions you have. Happy dreams:alien:
