Ich brauche Hilfe!
Hello! As the title may have indicated, I like to speak German. However, I am, in fact, American. Anyway, I have only recently discovered the phenomenon of lucid dreaming and I consider it to be one of the absolute coolest forms of entertainment available.
I have a problem, however, and that is I am not quite sure how to get started. Since beginning my efforts (about a month-and-a-half ago), I have expericnced a grand total of 1 (ONE!!) lucid dream, from which I promptly awakened, moments after attaining lucidity. I was kind of mad. At the time, I was not clear-headed or knowledgable enough to attempt spinning or hand rubbing or anything, and I need some help just simply learning the basics of lucid dreaming, i.e., how to become lucid, how to stay lucid, and how to remain in a lucid dream as opposed to waking up when I have successfully entered one.
Looking forward to your feedback!

Welcome to the forums! (w00t I welcomed someone)
Also, a lot of times, once you get into the lucid dream you get excited and you can't hold onto it. Try not to get too excited, and remember, keep trying, don't give up ;)
And congrats on getting at least one :D

thanks. The funny thing is, I don't remember getting excited. I was standing in my laundry room with a gun (lol, long story,) and i remembered just thinking out of the blue, "this is a dream!" and I became lucid. Then, it just kind of faded away. Unfortunately, I didn't spin or anything, so I lost a great opportunity.
